650/X-2 X2 Bilge Question

How do you guys run your bilge I bought a bilge bracket and did a test fit but It sits off of the bottom of the hull at least a half inch. Is there a reason for this IMO it would work better just zip tied to the brace on the pipe side and then having the bottom flush with the hull? It also seems very close to the drive shaft with the bracket? Also where do you guys pump it out the hull? Should you keep the stock bilge I have seen this debate before just seeing what you guys think? I do plan on riding some surf soon.

I have the pump bracket that bolts to the thru hull bearing as well, but I dont use it in either one of my x2's. I have found that it allows too much water in the hull with the gap underneath. What I do, and many other people do is glue the pump directly to the hull, located where the bracket has it with 3M 5200 marine adhesive. It works perfect, and leaves barely any water in the bildge area. I run the hose exit on the right side about 3 to 4 inches behind the hood latch.

I use a basic waterproof on/off switch right now, but Im about to change it over to a military grade handlebar mounted one. Ive seen some other people use them, and I think I will like that better.

I run mine with a bracket from the brace to the bilge pump which allows it to sit on the bottom of the hull. I also run a painless wiring waterproof switch thats on its third season without a problem.

Where do most guys run the outlet? I was thinking about try to run it up to the front and out on of the stock holes. Plan on replacing the stock fitting from the fuel area drain with a larger outlet.

This is what I have always done:

-Keep stock bilge.

-Rule 500GPH pump, epoxy bilge tray/base to well prepped bottom of hull where ever there is room, typically at the back end of the engine compartment. I have always purchased a $5.00, plastic on/off toggle switch from Murray's or ORiely's and glue switch (with 'Goop') to bars or start/stop switch that I can easily tap with my left thumb. Inexpensive, never any issues.

-Mine right now sits right in front of the stock bilge, right under the drive shaft, water is tubed up and directly out the side, well above bond line, of course.

If you run the bilge out by the latch you will need to make sure you loop your line. I run 2 of my x2's out roughly 2 inches in front of the bolt for the grab handle. Both locations have worked well for me.

Do you only ride fresh water? cause I know from experience that those dont last for crap in the salt, I got maybe 10 rides out of them. Now I use a milspec one from OCD.
