650/X-2 X2 engine rebuild/replace options

I have a 1988 650 x2 which has been lying up for 12 years hull good condition
but the crank and bearings are all rusted and seized the rest of the engine cleaned up good.
I just want to getting working ASAP, don't want to waste money on doing a quick fix and don't want
another massive project.
What would you do?

Buy a short block and be done with the motor. Clean the carb, wash the tank out and toss in a new battery.

Where would be a good place to buy a short block? Would it be exchange?
I would be buying in the US as prices seem a lot better.

Where would you be shipping to? If you look a K group you can send in your parts and come out with a built motor that's a good runner. Or post up a wanted ad here on the forum, I'm sure one of the guys have one in their shop. There are plenty of builders out there.

I have a good short block laying around with out a head, I would do 275 plus shipping on it to who ever
