x2 steering question

So I did some searching through the threads and so if I want my ski to turn sharper, as in not a wide turn but a quicker/tighter turn, I need to get ahold of an acusteer or maybe umi steering? Im a college student with not a lot of money hangin around, is there anyway to mod to the stock steering?

An aftermarket steering stem doesn't exactly mean you'll turn sharper. What it does it reduce the amount of rotation you have to turn the bars to get the same throw at the nozzle. In order to accomplish this the arm on the bottom of the steering is lengthened or the point where the steering cable attaches.

you can also mount the rod end at the nozzel closer to the nozzel and accomplish the same thing . do both and you will have to clearance the noz to the trim for full reach

Basically what I did is whittle the stops and I put the steering arm in the hydraulic press and straightened it some,it made a huge difference.

Did you have any trouble getting the cable end to reach the steering arm after putting it in the press? That made the steering arm go out farther from the piviot point, but also doesnt reach as far down, right?

you will have to adjust the cable after modifying the arm. there is alot of adjustment on the cable end's, just be sure you adjust it so the steering stop's are what stop the steering if you adjust it wrong and are relying on the cable to limit the travel you will break the steering cable for sure.

I'd image increasing the up trim would also increase the quickness you turn if you're turning aggressivly and leaning far. That's a simple adjustment.

You don't need aftermarket steering to get quicksteer. Just get a piece of aluminum and extend your stock steering arm. You can also shorten the attachment point at the nozzle.

Actually you need about 30 seconds and a hydraulic press to straighten the arm out, real men don't use extensions lol
