Xfr in surf

ive searched all over and I can't find too much info on the Xfr in surf. I live in Florida and am getting ready for my first am hull and was wondering if the Xfr would be good for me. I mostly ride in the surf and just cruise. Any help would be much appreciated thanks

I personally wouldn't bother but i've had the last 2 years of riding on a FR2 Evo and loved it for surf riding. Ive ridden a few short ski's with long plates and i hated it. Have you tried the Edge? thats a surf boat but still performs on flat water on good for a general ride.

lawlor told me he liked the longer FR2 for big surf as opposed to his tiny footrocket. big guys need bigger boats. i'm no pro surf rider by any means but I have an XFS clone for surf now and it works good for me. short ride plate too and i'm 210lbs. it flips easier and off smaller waves than my old fr2 . I have another fr2 I need to build and compare. it doesn't matter what you're on, you still have to run from the big ones that are going to crash on you

The XFR was great in surf up to shoulder/head high. Its fast and nimble. Was easier to slash and carve small waves than the edge. It does ride nose high when you were resting going slow but as soon as you hit the gas it was flat and stable again. For florida surf where its not always huge it would be a great boat. Put a decent motor in it and you would definitely prefer it on small days over the edge.

i was wondering the same thing i was thinking about one also ,but last weekend i rode a krash 50cal. ski is awsome it does not ride nose high witch i like i dont like nose high skis very stable and nice ski! just my 2cents
