Freestyle XFS or KDX - who's ridden both?

What's the view on the XFS and KDX - how do they handle back to back? I've got an XFS now and love it, is the KDX much different to ride? Assume it's lighter weight but how does it compare on handling etc?

Thanks for sharing your views..

I rode both, if I had to chose between them, I would go with the KDX. I felt it rode better, felt lighter, and more nibble. However, did like the XFS too... just not as much.

Frosty Agreed, I have just purchansed a KDX and have ridden the XFS a bunch. I tried to buy either and the KDX happened to work out for me. Here are my thoughts from a get toghther of TXJ riders last year, most would agree. KDX had an 1100 PFP, XFS well tuned 850, very well dry pipe. this information is back flip only. For rolls I feel the XFS is easier, surf, not sure but xfs with long ride plate isnt bad. KDX I only rode once in surf, and it was set up for flat.

Xfs had a better trim set up IMO so this may negate some of this statement.

KDX:
Turns more centered
Lighter feeling
Lighter
not as much pop off same wave
More height
Less rotation
Carbon and nice build quality

XFS:
feels light in water, not so sure mid BF
Huge pop off same wave
less height, more rotation. Prob 15 to 25 deg more
Glass nice build quality

If you want to compare Carbon to carbon, this argument get more complex. Im strictly doing glass to carbon. In all honesty, i dont think you can go wrong either way. With skills either ski is a world class proven winner.

KDX IMO for flatwater anyway. Its adgile and light, semi stable (tougher recoveries) but IMO the kdx popped more off wake than the XFS. Hook up on the otherhand is more sketchy on the lighter KDX, due to lower center keel I beleive it rides more on top of the water feeling lighter and more adgile. KDX with propper intak / pump setup goes huge in flatwater, cannot attest to either in surf.
Never tried the carbon XFS (NINJA) the weight could make all the difference in the world. If your pockets are deep enough its prolly worth a shot.

k so just to update this.... I love this kdx. I went to daytona thinking it was the ugliest ski there then after meeting pat (nicest guy ever) he let me hop on his kdx 900. after i made it take on some water (ooops) i was blown away with how the hull flipped and handled. There long skis but they flip incredibly. I was planning on building one until i met keith and came accross his for sale. They ride great and i landed a flip second attempt with it. I have only been riding it for 2 weeks now but needless to say the kdx is awesome!!!!!
