Weird, They do take up a lot of room and will take a while to get used to, ideal for flatwater freestyle but I am unsure about the surf, will update when I get used to them....

In the surf they do get in the way if you like to do re-enty's in surf stance.... I rode a ski w/ holds like that and I was stepping all over them..

well the verdict is in, 100% satisfied, i tried my first around the world and got it 3/4 of the way around, i would never go back to a normal SJ again, the grass is greener on the outher side. one down side is the paint, it is so soft but the last hull we got also had the same paint problems, but i am not to concerned as have heaps of paint my ex wife bought me so i will either go bright lime green or black, the desicion is in the air.....
ps double barrel roll will be achieved very shortly as i nearly did one yesterday and i was not even trying....
if u are thinking about doing it then spend the money it is worth it.

Which xft hull did you get the flatwater or backflip version and what weight is the one you got 36,33,26 or 22kg...??

Exile, i got the surf version which is the heaviest one of them all and even then i think it is light as, the surf version has 10 extra kgs where u want it, ie nose, pump, tray ect.

The hood is strong as and does not budge as it has 2 seals and the lip.

i might take the small tank out and put in the larger tank as it is a pain on longer rides but it does make the ski well balanced.....

anyway i will be back out tomorrow then the comp on sunday, over and out

The best ''first mode'' a person can do is to get a lightweight hull IMO,and a XFT is a very good choice,I'm in my second XFT hull and like a lot!

What happened to your first one, did it break :haha:

just kidding. I'm glad you're happy with it. I've heard/seen a few cases of problems, but sergio seems to keep people happy.

I have been riding the hull for quite some time know and it definatly increases the level to learning new tricks, pulled off about 8 around the worlds just by doing a 180 turn leaning back pulled the trim and gased it. In the surf is another story everything you do must be done twice as slow, i have over rotated so many back flips and rolls that i might as well try doubles.
the trim is insane and i had my doubts as to wether it would break but it has held together. Sergio backs all his products and responds usually within 2-3 days via email, funny thing is i have never actually spoken a word to him only email. My next XFT hull will not have the large pads on the side as it makes it hard for the turf to stick to and i have had to reglue the turf down in a few places. I have been first hand to see the first hulls a few years ago and now the new ones and i will be getting another one when i have flogged this one... me 1.jpg

That is freakin sick! Sounds too me like a double BF may be in the future for someone. What is the cost minus the motor to build one of these skis? Can you use all stock SJ components and just buy the hull+hood? Thanks

Nice pics by the way!

I believe it was around 6.5 k US, this was with the $ 600 dollars trim set up which makes around the worlds and back flips easy as.... i am unsure but if you want prices just visit sergio's website he will contact you back..

Yamaslut - the surf was pretty big that day , just came back froma ride with 3-4 foot glassy sets rolling in, we are blessed on the gold coast during winter, 24 degrees c , unsure what that is in F.

cheers
