xft scupper question

I was not concerned about this at first but I just saw a thread about a lowes one way valve that didnt close all the way....

My xft scupper sits just slightly open on the ski. If there is water pressure on it I imagine it will close, but not positive as this is my first scupper ever... I imagine this is normal of scupper valves as xft is a high quality company... someone put my mind at ease....

my x metal sits open a bit out of the water you should be all good

it will stay closed when its in the water floating cause the xft is recessed a little but im not convinced that every scupper is leakproof.
