Like I said. It's the internet. Take the good with the bad. The "negative feedback" section has very little activity. That's a testament to the character of "most" members.
Have some faith in that character. Vendors contribute, even if not finacially.

Don't restrict...and take away the reason for non-members to visit, and see the ads.

Again I ask...Is the X in trouble? Or is this a fund-raiser?

I agree with Munki63, Vendors should have to pay! Its the cost of business. I'm not trying to single guys out, but how much less Epics, aftermarket hulls etc.. would be sold if the X didn't exist. If you want to hawk your :):):):) pay up! Especially if posting your commercial stuff for say on the website

I look at it like this,...

if you pay you pay, if you don't you don't.

That right there is HEAVY.
lol i just started this thread so that if someone did not know about the donation, would find out about it, and my yearly donation was up a few days ago, i have no porblem with anybody that does not donate

and I just bumped your thread up with mu useless babble (I mean wisdom) for that same reason.

It's only $10. This place has made me spend a LOT more but I like it.

I have no problems with the average member not paying, but Venders are different. They make alot of money of this site

How many epics and am hulls would you "know" were even available to you if not for the X?
Nobody is gonna strike it rich here. If you sold "1 unit" of whatever your product may happen to be, to every single stand-up jet ski rider in the world....I'd bet that you could still not quit your day job.

I've got no problem with people that don't support the x financially thru the donation button, vendors I just feel should click on that button

Xj is right, In my case anyways 4 years ago when I started wambltons and blowsion were the only sources I knew existed until I found the x, now I'm looking at an aftermarket hull powered by a xs motor with an epic... All thanks to the x.... This is why I support this wicked site.

Lets say you sell 2 hulls for $4000, your telling me $50-$100 a year to support a site is the only reason you were able to sell teh hulls in the first place is too much to ask.

I'm not telling you anything.

What you seem to be telling me, is that .. because somebody sells something..(doesn't mean they made money), that they have an obligation to pay, so that the rest of us may continue to enjoy the site that enabled thier sale.

Uhhhh.... sound familiar????

i paid my donation well before i got involved in doing the ATP stuff and still will continue to

this site is awesome source for parts and information plus the social (sometimes anti-social) aspect

for myself my aim with ATP was to make the product available to people on this side of the pond easier, without getting into details its not my day job and isnt a revenue generator (even tho some may think otherwise), its actually a very expensive venture once you start shipping volumes of product and paying taxes, duty and also the holding costs (interest) for having unsold product

that being said even for me $10 is nothing to pay, anyone who does regulary vend on here should pay

There are some guys who purely use this site to vend products and never get involved in any discussions, never offer any advice to anyone etc

Anyway.. my $0.02, i support and will continue to in as many ways as i can

I can add a second subscription option that doesn't bold/italicize your username, or do we just do away with it?

We're not in trouble, ebay revenue is down to almost nothing, google ads are steady like always, but donations have held up things and still allow supporting the Greyland Open and other events when possible. I used to have big plans but the money really just isn't there.

One thing most probably don't remember is we've always had the banner ad up top and 250 PM storage, just the people who donate have the ad disappear and get double PM storage. That way, there is no penalty for not donating, the site looks/functions just like it always did, but the people who help out get a couple of benefits.

One forum I'm on charges $2/item for a classified ad. I could see that working here, but cheaper, except Paypal's percentage out of $1 would be like 30%, but really we don't need that money so ...

I was hoping you would chime in. (JETT)
And, although I'm not a seller, I believe that any increased costs to sellers might cause them to go elsewhere.
....good ones and the few bad ones.
err on the side of freedom.
Continue to let members take responsability for thier transactions...good or bad.

If you want the site to protect you from bad deals and bad info....I'm sure it will end up costing a bunch more than 10 bux, or the registration fee of zero.

I think the bold italicized is a good idea. It makes people who don't know about the contribution option wonder why some people have it and brings more awareness to it.

I've sold tons of stuff here but not to make money. I lose money on every build. Just ask my wife.

the "invisible" option in your general settings can solve the "to be bold, or not to be bold" thing. lol I just became invisible!

I'm sooooo tech-savvvy! lol.
