I have a friend with an XL760 and the computer seems to be dead. I know these are hard to come by and when you can find them they are either just as old or very expensive. He said he can jump the brown and red wire and start the ski.

What is the best way to deal with this issue these days. My feeling is that there is a way to jumper/bypass the dash computer or replace the Ebox CDI with a WB2 or aftermarket CDI that removes the dash computer from the system all together. On this note, will a GP1200 computer work as a replacement or does it have to be a GP/XL760 computer. I am confident that he would be perfectly happy bypassing the dash computer completely.

This is a completely all stock boat in perfect running condition except for the newly unresponsive Dash computer.

There are 2 different brown and red connectors going to the gauges. One set is input TO the gauge, the other is output FROM the gauge. Unhook both and put the 2 different colored connectors on the HARNESS SIDE to each other. Start function of the gauges is now bypassed.

Thank you. I sent him that information.
