opie and who?

howard is a leader.

the other guys are followers.

That statement might have been true back in 1995.
Hoo Hoo hasn't done anything since than except for (now concentrate, these are his words),"SUB PAR RADIO".

Yep, I guess I refuse to live in the past.

Porn stars stripping on a radio show and getting tickled, hmm ???
Yep, that's original.
It also works great seeing as radio is an audio medium.

I fill up in my pants every time I HEAR a naked chick.

:meanwhile back in 2006.......

XM 202 The virus is spreading.

I love XM... been using it for two years and I am proud to say I have no clue who the lastest star in pop music is !!!

I guess Sirus could be as good, but it's apples and oranges to me...

I listen to Liquid Metal (forty fuggin' two), XM Chill (84) 99% of the time
80's, 90's, XMPR, Comedy (150) and a few others... the rest

People still care about Howard Stern??? That truley amazes me... I mean hell, the guy's routine was tired 15+ years ago...
strippers, midgets, lesbians.... that's so cutting edge

I have XM and love it. Very few commercials and only on the talk channels anyway. Music channels are mostly just music, maybe some performer interviews here and there. The only thing I've heard that makes Sirius better is that their music channels are more targeted, for lack of a better word. For example, I like modern country but find myself flipping through all the country channels to here modern/mainstream stuff whereas Sirius only plays the mainstream stuff on the mainstream channel (so you don't have to flip as much to hear what you want).

the strippers and lesbians are only 5-10% of his show at most and it usually isnt very entertaining. the stern show, now that its on satellite, is better than ever. the "sub par radio" was when he was on regular radio getting censored and fined continuously. now, they can do and/or say whatever the hell they want and the crew is better than ever and blows all the other wannabe copycats out of the water. if youve never heard stern show on sirius, youve never heard the real stern show.

XM!!!!
Howard is way too old and tired, and I never really did like his bloated ego. Xm also has way better quality hardware, by far. I install audio gear for a living, and about once a year I will get free hardware to use.

I also endorse XM simply because I own 150 shares of their stock

it's all preference... some aspects of each are better than the other. Really, if you have to choose go to each's website and DL the channel listing to compare. Between that and who has the better units on the market is enough to make your own decision.

When I bought the best option for me was XM because of the Delphi MyFi unit, Sirius had nothing to compare until now and it was @ 2 years ago when I signed up....

p.s. XM is cheaper subscription-wise.

you get what you pay for.

try to cancel your xm subscription and they beg you to stay and offer you free equipment and a lower subscription fee. just thought you xm users might find that info useful ;)

On anothe note.... I just don't see how Sirius is gonna make it with the contract the signed Stern to. 500MM over 5 yrs? They don't have the subscribers to pay that off, then you add all the other programs/DJ's and support and it just doesn't make sense???? Seems like they have no room to sign any other talent cause they already at a lose. But somehow the stock is doing OK???

Head scratcher to me... : )

He still has commercials and paying advertisers on his show, its just 3 minutes of it instead of 15 minutes of it every 5 minutes. Howard doesnt make most peoples decisions on getting Sirius. Alot of people like the channel selection alot better.

On another note, Sirius has far more aftermarket companies making tuners and equipment for them. My friend owns a car audio shop and went to a convention not that long ago, and Sirius may have live video feed before the end of the summer.

How's that working out for you these days? Last I checked, their stock was doing pretty crappy... (Unless you bought it dirt cheap, in which case you're probably doing pretty well!).

I had XM for 3 weeks:banghead: then switched to Sirius .
Sirius has 100% commercial free music stations .
Sirius has better sound reproduction too .XM sounded like it was so far away and had no high tones it sounded flat . Sirius sounds just like you put a cd in

Raw dog uncensored comedy station is awesome (channel104)
I can't stand Howard Stern but got it for the music

If you like rock and metal the most than go with Sirius .XM 42 has cookie monster singing on every song and it should be liquid death metal not liquid metal .Hard attack is much more like just good heavy metal not death metal .

if you like country go with XM (11 country stations)

I'll tell you back when the equipment was $3-400 I was worried about picking a service that might go under. The stuff's cheap enough now not to worry about that. If something happens to sirius we'll switch to something else.

I have sirius and I am happy with it. Howard has gotten a lot better since he moved to sirius. I basically listen to the rock/metal staions with some old school rap thrown in. It is amazing how much better the rap was back then compared to now.
