My wife says my family wants to buy me tools for wrenching on my skis. I only have the basic wrenches, ratchets, cheap torque wrench, dremel, multitool, and harmonic balancer puller. What is some cool stuff I haven't thought of to put on a wish list? Air compressor and airtools? Something really cool and useful I don't know about?

Snap-On Compression gauge is something I've always wanted, but haven't wanted to pony up the money for.

Hitachi 12v cordless impact wrench is the best damn tool for ripping skis apart. One of the best tools I use... Can't say I own it because it is my buddy Geoff's, but it pretty much has been at my house for months now. Haha.

Cold-Fusion flywheel lock is also an awesome gift. Perfect for a stocking stuffer.

Extra long pair of needle nose pliers for putting on the battery straps. (cheap pair from harbor freight does the job. I have a set in all my tool boxes)

Extra long 3/8" ratchet extension is great for removing battery boxes, coupler covers, and engine mount bolts (so you don't have to link a bunch of smaller extensions together)

Compressor and air tools are on my list, but not my Xmas list. That one is to be blank for the next three years.
Granted, I want that stuff only for faster work on couches during the summer

PET 2100DX....the best tool for tuning your ski! Everyone should have one, or know someone that does. Randy at Watcon knows this, and so does your neighbour.

Why cordless? What about air impact wrenches?

I do love my cold fusion flywheel holder by the way. I would put that on a list if I didn't have it.

Pop-off gauge would be on my list: it just seems to be one of those things I never quite buy, but always regret not having when I need one. My favorite tool for hull mods: 4" angle grinder. I also love my wobbly-end for my 3/8" drive which allows the sockets to swivel at an angle to the long extension: absolutely great for motor mounts and pump bolts.

BTW, Paul Lehr had the best battery/tank strap tool I've seen: long flat bladed screwdriver with a notch cut in the end!

Paul has a cool tool for tuning carbs too. It turns the carb screws without getting your hands in there. He said it was from his outboard racing days or for outboard racing or something like that.

Air compressor for sure. No less than a 60 gallon tank and none of that oil-less compressor BS. Once you get that, you'll want a dual action sander, right angle die grinder, regular die grinder, impact wrench with at least 500lbs max torque (because if you're having to use an impact wrench you either want to loosen it or break it), air ratchet, and of course a 50 ft retractable air hose. I'll be happy to help you set it all up if you get one too. I'll even help Brande pick it out and get it home if it has to be a surprise. lol

If that hasn't totally broken the bank or is too much for the bank to handle, a 7" angle grinder is a huge help when you want to cut something fast. A recipricating saw cuts those things that the angle grinder can't get to.

I love my bosch cordless drill/driver, similar to the cordless impact driver.

the impact drivers impart impulses of energy on a bolt/nut just like a hammer imparts an impulse of energy on a nail, perfect for dismantling stubborn threaded things. Clutches just slip when the going gets tough.

Dear Santa,
I've tried to be a good boy this year.
I would really like a really clean piece of rope (3/8" dia ) to shove down my spark plug hole.
It seems to be the only way to hold my crank.

snap-on cordless impact drivers are the shiznit. I love my 18v when i go to change my rims to winter tires. I really, really do NOT like air tools, maybe at the shop all day....but when i work on my own stuff....3/8 snap-on 14.4v cordless impact driver. perfect gift. I got all mine used on cl and ebay, f retail.

Oh, but jet ski stuff....i have a portable 5 in 1 battery jumper that is great for the car and jetski. It is a harbor frieght item, around $80. but includes: battery jump start (to drain saltwater soaked engine), power inverter, work light, air compresser, and 110v 400w pwer inverter. nice

A tool for putting on battery straps. I might just make one out of a long #3 flathead and grind out the center to grab the metal clip of the battery strap.

I believe Snap-On sells an outrageously overpriced version though.
