XMW dual bolt torqueing specs - stiff riders only

Throught it would be a fun thread to see and compare how stiff everyone runs their pole.

I know most people just stick a wrench on and push with all their body weight, but was wondering if anyone has a mesurable number on how tight they like their pole.

and i'm sure it would be hard to pull the thread flat, but anyone know the maxinum "safe" torque

I just use a regular crescent wrench and a rubber mallet. :smashfreakB:

whenever i tighten my bolt down, i swear i'm about ready to snap either the bolt or nut into 1,000,000 pieces.

YEAH THIS IS WHAT I DO ALSO, THATS WHAT GOT ME WONDERING

WANNED TO SEE IF 150FT/LB IS STAYING JUST AS TIGHT AS THE 50FT/LBS

I tightened mine every spring for the past 3 years, and I think the bolt is screwed. I tried to tighten it again this spring, and it wouldn't tighten (even w. a 2ft bar on wrench). I don't know if the bolt (stock) is stripped, but back when I was first doing it, I had my 250lbs at the end of a ~10" ratchet (210ft/lbs?), and it was tight enough.

I have to re tighten mine,Ill put a torque wrench on it and see what its set to. I know its alot.

put pole completely vertical
douse threads with red loctite

I use 2 open end wrenches....a second set of hands is nice here

let dry overnight



usually lasts me about 10 rides or so......
