for the life of me i can not get the plate to hit the stops with the pump connected.

If i get the steering end to just touch when i connect the pump it wont. and when i get the pump end set the steering end wont hit the stops. the closest i can get both connected it about a 4mm gap on each side of the stop.

as a side note:
how many threads/turns can i get by on the steering cable with when i'm adjusting the female end of the nipple connector

If your steering cable is too long at the pump, the nozzle can bottom out causing your turn plate to not hit the stop..........

only other option is your cable may have already been cut.............

Might need to move the mount point in a hole or two on the plate. Definitely make sure you hit the stops. "Close enough" is not close enough :wallbang:.

but isent the whole point of quicksteer is using teh outer pivots?

Trying to figure out why mines not meeting up, and others are

The point is to max out your throw but it is easy to overdo it. Do whatever it takes I guess. I had/have plenty of throw with a modded nozzle and the steering mounted at the second hole on the plate. I switched to a cats this year, moved the mount thing back out to the outer hole, and now got a bent cable and crooked alignment but it still works great back in the middle position :afro:

allrighty, Ill play around with the plates pivot point, but if that not enough anyone know how to shorten a steering cable?

I can see the concept behind shorting a throttle cable with the little ball at the end, but how do I do it with the steering cable? I gave xmw a call and pats is going to be out for a week, and know one their said they know how to do it, or have ever see or herd of anyone shorting one before

Are you adding the XMW plate to a STOCK pole?

I had the same problem. I ended up turning the stop sideways, the one
that the turnplate would contact. (it's a little fatter one way than the other).
I ended up using the middle hole, because I was going to have to shave
the nozzle to use the outer hole (one day I'll take time to do this).

Then then adjusted the cable at both the pump end and the turnplate end
and eventually got it lined up right.

I think you only need to cut the cable if you have the XMW pole as well.

No, it isn't (the pole).

Pole length has absolutely nothing to do with the cable, because the top portion is a fixed length for all length SJ poles.

The nozzle...I don't know. I can't imagine it's all that different from a stocker in dimensions.
