Freestyle XS771 vs. stock 701

D-Roc

I forgot!
A 771 just may not impress if it's not setup with all the bells and whistles. My 735 had all the jazz and when I upgraded to my 771, It still made a very noticeable difference. Mine is a dasa pv topend so not exactly the same results as a 61x 771. But if ported/outfitted well, a 771 should always be a nice improvement from a 701. Actually. When I bored up from my 718 to 735. The incease in displacement and compression really made the 61x feel pissed off and had a powerful short hit to it. I corrected the squish and did the cylinder/case porting myself. It was a great setup for what I think was pretty cheap. You may find. More performance gains by getting some bigger ticket items over just getting a BB topend. You gotta get it all eventually haha.

Give our Budget Big Bore a try its not much more $$$ than the XS topend and comes complete with rebuilt crank, fully ported, epoxied and at 84mm its 760cc. If you want a BB topend later at 85mm, 85.5mm or 86mm I can build your cases now to accept the BB whenever you decide you need more.. Talk to Jetmaniac.

I have a team scream era 771 and it still yanks my arms. I set it up the way Chucky told me in regards to bolt ons, pump setup, etc....

I suck compared to everyone on the board, but I don't see myself tiring of it in the foreseeable future. A light hull would wake it up even more. I think its a pretty sweet setup for beginner/intermediate/casual riders who want a bit more.

Thinking about the XS771 top end since it falls more into my budget than a bigger motor. I'm wondering how much more power the 771 will have than the 701. Would the increase enough to hold me over for a while? On a scale of 1-10, what kind of improvement might I see assuming everything is set up correctly. I would most likely be using stock 38's and would eventually upgrade the ignition. Any mandatory upgrades? Is this a box of parts sent to me or would I send the motor to them for the installation?

Sorry for all the questions but I haven't seen them answered anywhere.

Looks like you will have about 10% more power all else equal. You are at the point of blindly throwing money around looking for more power. Get your existing cylinder bored/ported and learn how to tune the carbs and pump. Im assuming you already have a pipe.
