It all kind of snowballs when it comes to mods. I plan on keeping my hull and just optimizing the current set up. I have ridden several aftermarket hulls of various weights but still just feel very comfortable on my older Wamilton's hull. And it seems that no one wants a SJ anymore.......

The only aftermarket hull I would really want is a EME signature series hull, but I don't think they are still available. Unless I pester Malone to make me one.

Sounds like the pump tunnel on the hull is the big limiting factor.......so I'm just going to have to focus on maximizing the performance of the 144 magnum pump.

Anyone have experience with a 1000cc engine with a 144 mag pump? Any good?

144 can only process so much water. Gonna go on a limb and say 1000 cc motor is out side of that. hence the comments about running a 148. In AM hulls, it seams up to about 950-1000cc the 148 works really well, when you get over the 1000cc mark, then the 155mm pumps take over..... That said, with the right combo of bored nozzle, prop pitch and setback, you may can get the most out of the 1000cc motor..... But I would think you could find a better 900cc motor that would work better for you.

Yeah, I just remember riding one of Malones 1000cc skis with a 145 kiwi mag and It was INSANE!! So I'm sure the 144 mag can produce similar results....IF its not hampered by the pump tunnel

You probably havent rode the right a/m hull, eme is towards the bottom of my list, but I've been on many different a/m hulls.

Your be able to run what ever engine you want, but you may be disappointed in the gain since itll be so held back.
