XScream pole with RRP steering question

Ski came with an XScream pole and steering set up with 0 deg bars. I want 4 deg so I bought the RRP universal set up. When installing it, I can’t get the circle bearing plate into the pole (see picture). I can secure it to the pole but that bearing doesn’t seat into the pole and I can’t get a socket around the nut to fully tighten. Has anyone used the RRP set up on an XS pole? Do I have to grind out the hole in the pole?

Yes, just did it to mine. 25mm short shank drill bit on Amazon.

I used a metal dremil bit and now we are flush
