"The rev comes up on it's own and heads on down the river chasing boat docks, parked boats, rock walls and finally the barge. WITH OUT BRIAN!!!"

I guess it must be an Alabama thing, I can totally read and comprehend the part about heads down the river WITH OUT BRIAN.

When Brian launched off of the barge wake for a BIG AZZ stab, the cheap azz throttle cable pulled out of the housing causing a panic rev w/o a finger on the trigger. It kept on revvin to the moon long after Brian was floating in the river. LOL It was probally turnin 3-4000 RPMs cause the throttle cable stayed out of the sleeve the whole time. It was pretty eventful. The hard part was getting the timing to bail on to his ski cuz the dam thing was going so fast. Oh yeah-ZIP TIE for a lanyard. LOL

Is what matters is-the REV is all good-not even a scratch thanks to Tobys mad spray skillz.

Sounds like good times.:ugh: It's only a matter of time until someone has a serious incident involving a zip tied kill switch. Unless you're honestly practicing or competing doing tricks not possible with a lanyard I just can't see the reason for it.

Gildo, if you gonna give props to someone at least get the right person damnit!!!:bad3: Toby was not even there, it was me "keefer" and you that teamed up and kept the 20mph 1/4 throttle runaway rev from crashing into shoreline, docks, rocks, and other boats. As soon as I saw what was happening I just kept on running up to the front of the ski and pump washing the front corner to steer it away from its next target. I had to make at least four corrections to keep it off the rocks and such. Once I finally got it running parallel with the shoreline I tried to get up beside it and hit the stop button but I missed. Then you got up beside it and missed, I pump steered it one more time and then on your second attempt you finally got to the stop switch. It was a great team effort and we finally got it stopped. Meanwhile Brian is about 1/2 mile back upstream somewhere, props to kawaboy101 for getting on his hood backwards and letting Brian double up on his ski for the tow back to the ghost rider rev. It was some crazy chit that had a lucky ending. :bananajump:

You said it all right there, unless you are in a competition doing a freestyle routine there is no good reason to defeat your lanyard. Someone will end up losing a boat or getting somebody hurt sooner or later. :soapbox: It is just lazy and stupid not to take advantage of a good safety system that can make such a big difference. Mondays boondoggle could have easily ended up in serious injury or property damage. I am just glad I was there to help bring the situation to a good resolution that we could laugh about over beers later.

again???

I hear you got to see another runaway yesterday that resulted in sunken ski. You'd think people would learn from all these no lanyard stories.......:noevil:
