Any interest in a 62t top case half with manifold and stock cages? most likely from 96-97 SJ. Decent condition, will need cleaning..

What is the difference between a 62t case bottom and a 61 X case bottom? I know the top half has the intake manifold but I have both in front of me and do not see any obvious difference.

I dont care what anybody says, in the old days I used to mix and match some Yamaha 61X 62T 6M6 top and bottom cases and never had a problem... They sealed up nicely and the crank spun freely, what more do you want? :D

Would I recommend it? No,thats up to you.. haha

I have yet to see a problem with mixing top and bottom cases. I have a mandrel that would expose an issue if there was one and I haven’t found a set yet that caused an issue. Would I build a $10,000 freestyle engine on a mixed set if I had a match on the bench, probably not unless it was a panic. That being said, let’s be honest, lots of 701 based recreational engines are a bunch of hodge podge crap anyway and stock engines are a dime a dozen. Chances are you are going to sink it and rust or flat spot the bearings on a hydro-lock before the cases are a problem anyway. If it gets you on the water and fits your budget, don’t be afraid to mix...

Well said, Thank you...
I may have recycled it a decade ago but nowadays glad there's a use for it and helps me with grocery money!!
