I just bought a tube of yamabond like yesterday. The parts guy said they discontinued it, but are bringing it back out due to the fact the customers love it!

I have always used Loctite sealant / gasket maker. I have used Loctite 515 on multiple motors but other people also recommend Loctite 518. The 518 seems to be a stonger sealant. It's an anaerobic sealant, so you have unlimited working time with it before it sets up. It sets up when you seal the case halves together. Why doesn't it cure in the tube? I don't know. Plus, after opening the tube, it last a long time. I've had a tube of the stuff for 5 years and it's still good.

Yes, the 518 is the red stuff. 515 is a dark purple and smells like grape Kool Aid.... I wonder what it tastes like? Haha.
I was recommend the 515 from a local snowmobile engine builder. After reading around and looking up the product data sheets on both the 515 and 518, it seems the 518 is slighter stronger than the 515.
Great stuff and very easy to work with.
