YAMADOO 155 MAG PUMP...

I’ve been toying around with this cause I had the parts just laying around.
OEM Yamaha 155 pump stator housing (chipped stator veins)
Cut out center hub and bored housing
Then machined center hub

OEM Seadoo “Plastic“ 10 vein Mag pump 155, stator veins are chipped BUT I didn’t want to sacrifice a good one until I knew this would work.
Machined outside of plastic pump to press fit into yamaha housing
Machined Seadoo hub to press fit Yamaha hub so I can run Yamaha drive shaft
Feels light as a FEATHER!!!
The finished product will have perfect stator veins.

Also have this Aluminum 10 vein MAG I’m about to machine to build an all aluminum pump.

On your final parts you plan to run after your target practice pieces, make your stator .010” larger than the housing with parts at room temp. Set your stator in the freezer overnight and put the housing in the oven at 275 degrees for 20 minutes and that sucker will drop in like a hotdog down a hallway. A 155 housing will grow about .015 at 275.
If your up to it, machine a step in the housing and stator so you have a positive stop so depth is set. Once you drop it in those temps will meet each other quickly and that stator ain’t ever gonna move. If it’s not an interference fit those pin bolts aren’t going to do jack in plastic once you put 200 Hp of shock loading to it when the pump is in and out of the water. I am unsure of how much plastic shrinks in the cold but it is easy to test and would be worth your time to check. If it shrinks.005 or .010 you could adjust your interference even more. The more clamp you end up with the better. When I assemble aluminum housings /aluminum stators you would crap your pants to see the amount of interference you can assemble. Cool project, have fun, I like to see capable guys trying and sharing stuff like this. I do lots of things like this around my shop and enjoy the work and testing the outcomes.
