Super Jet Yamaha 701 & 760

[2005 SJ RYDER]

Hoping someone can help me determine what years yamaha made the 701 & 760 engine?

looking for a used 760 engine and i wasn't sure what skis i could find it in?

also looking for a used 701 and again wasn't sure what skis i could find that in either?

does anyone know if you can use the 701 ebox on the 760?

i have access to an msd 4253 for the 650/701 but will it work with the760?

GP 760 and Blaster II for the 760 engine were the most common skis.
Use the 701 Superjet electronics/front cover with the MSD Enhancer in the elec box.

'96-'97 Wave Blaster II 760
'98-'99 XL 760
'97-98 Wave Runner 760
'96-'97 Wave Venture 760
'96 Wave Raider 760

the 760 should just bolt right up to the motor mounts w/o too much effort correct?

it will bolt straight in
the crank cases and crank shaft are the same a the 701
the difference is in the cylinder and above

are the 760 a better motor to get bottom end power on or is the 701 the pick ????????? sorry for the thread jack

looking at total loss and bumping the compression to around 200 psi

going in a eme q8 which motor would be a better starting point ?

wax can you get the same gains from a 760 ported ? or am i better off doing this to my motor ?

you can get the gains from the 760 cylinder it just take a bit more work to get the transfer to the right height due to cylinder machining
