Other yamaha pump to 300sx hull?

I am thinking about attempting a 300sx build and i want to swap everything from my superjet into the SX. I do not want to touch my superjet in any way. like i have seen builds on here for 300sx conversions but they all use a donor hull to help make it a little easier.. is there any way i can use my pump in the 300sx hull without having a donor pump cavity?

I am doing the same build 701/144 into a 300sx. I just took all the 300 componets out to get a good look at everything. I prefer not to hack up a superjet hull either... just in case the 300 doesn't work out. But after a good look at it I am starting to think that we could make a bracket from the stock pump bolts to fit the 144 just like I am doing with the motor mounts

I was going to tell them that but it looked like they were goin a little different route. no need to barge in and interupt. I was just trying to remember how small that intake tunnel was and how a 144 pump snugged up to a 300 inlet was gonnna work. how big is a 300 pump anyway? plus you cant just bolt that pump in, it has to center off the drive line. or you need to shim the motor up to match the new angled pump. not really something you can wing, it has to be planned a little bit. happy to help in any way I can, measurements etc.

It won't work like they are thinking it will, the only part that was usable on mine was the very front of the intake tunnel. In case you are wondering how you do it here it is in my build thread but trust me using Tom21's pump tunnel would be much easier.

You have to cut the old mounts out and drill new ones, I relocated the stockers, I would not reccomend that option

however you do it, to my thinking the main concern is alignment. and this may mean you have to jack up the motor or jack up the tray to get things in line. a piece of flat aluminum with holes drilled and tapped would be cheap and easy for inserts. and impossible to twist out of the glass.

Spend your time aligning the wheel instead of trying to reinvent it. The Yamaha pump is a complete piece of engineering that is designed to work with the Superjet intake track. You can make a pump fit into anything but that wont make it perform as well as if you fit it into the right piece. Go with a replica pump tunnel. Spend your time (and it's going to take a lot of it) deciding where you want the pump front/back for best balance of the boat, and making sure you have a driveline properly aligned to your motor. It's a waste of time to try to modify the 300 intake for the 144 pump. It's going to be a massive project from beginning to end. At least use the part engineered to work with the part you want to use.

Dan just find a cheap rn or Sj hull to cut and shorten a lot less work and will be a lot more flickable then your square.

Ordered a piece of 1/2 inch 6061 aluminium to raise the motor the 1/2in it needs
