Would it be worth the extra $ to buy new? I could do new in a few months but I'd have to wait alittle while for the mods.
I don't know sht about jet ski's. I've been into motorcycle stunting & I know you never buy a new sportbike to stunt cause they get trashed. Not the case wth jet ski's though?

Absolutely NO reason to buy a new Superjet. The design hasn't changed in a dozen years, plus you'll have to sink a minimum of 1200-1500 into it to get it freestyle-worthy. I am also of the camp of selling one of the couches and getting a stand-up. The couches will be nice for friends and family to ride and for cruising around with a chick, but once you get on the stand-up, you'll not be doing too much riding on it.

I just told my dad that I want to sell the 2 seater & buy a standup he said he'll buy it from me. So I guess I'll be buying a superjet. :arms::brap::woot::Banane01::barrel:

So there hasn't been any changes in the design? Engine is the same too? How much can I get a really nice 2000+ Superjet for with a trailer?

Last major change to the SJ was in 96. Since than it's all about the same except for colors and stickers.

Single trailers are easy to find around my area and I wouldn't pay too much for one. Go to a shop that works on skis and I'm sure they will have one sitting out back.

Decent RNs with basic mods start around $3K and go up from there. If you have $5K than you should be able to find something NICE.

i got a built superjet for 3 g's and my single trailer cost me all of 75 bux

my ski needed mega work to make it worthy, but
i got burned

the trailer i got yrs ago for my first stand up and it's still the one that gets the most miles on it

you truely should be able to find a fairly well built superjet and trailer for about 4 g's

good luck

So whats the difference between the old SJ square nose ones, and the newer ones? Do they have the same power? And do they handel the same? Are they good stunters or is it worth buying a newer one?
Thanks again for all the help guys.

stunters, stunting, etc=freeriding or freestyle. sorry cant take it anymore.

squares have the same bottom hull and some say they handle better. 93 and older had 650s and 94-95 had single carb 701. its worth buyin a 701 either way.

If you're going to have almost 4k to spend, I'd hold out on a roundnose. I wouldn't be concerned about the year at all. Look for what it come with. footholds, prop, intake grate, b-pipe are mandatory. Hood, aftermarket handlepole, ported engine, etc are very desireable mods.

How much would it cost to do all those mods to a stock one? I'm not machanicly inclined so if I had my dealer do install it. What am I looking at installed for all those mods?

Way too much.

Time to learn mechanics. If your going to have a aftermarket built jetskis, you'll need to learn to work on your own things. Having a more exprience person show you the right way, and reading these forums are a great way. I have alot of friends teach me form the ground up about these and its helped me more then i can tell.

i just dont like "stunters"

dont let the shop do anything for you! if youve never worked on anything before this is perfect opportunity to learn. about as as easy as a combustion engine gets!

And if you ask a dealer to put in footholds and scupper, they will probably just look at you with a blank stare...

I had a buddy put his ski into a shop here in Orlando for porting, new head and footholds. The shop subbed out the foothold install and charged him $1600 for the install and holds. When he got the ski back we went riding and his holds weren’t even turfed, they just cut the existing turf and 5200'd the holds in. Chezzy
