Yamaha XL700 swap...

Hi folks...Im new to the forum and i hope i put the thread in the right section...I have XL700 yamaha with factory 62T engine,and im wondering which more powerful engines can this chassis accept?

I was looking for xlt800 engine 66E but im not sure if the engine mounts are the same,that seems like only reasonable upgrade apart from 66V 1200cc...

Im also unaware of mods that can be done to 62T to make it go faster,i have healthy engine to start with 150/155psi,so any advice is appreciated...

A 760 will bolt up but will not add much power. I non power valve 1200 is probably your best bet, I believe the motor mount inserts are already there. You may need a midshaft and a few other parts off an xl1200, an 1100 should also be an easy swap

Might want to try pwctoday.com. the x is pretty much just standups. That said, a pipe and some tuning will really wake it up
