And I might add before I go any further, that Nick himself said even way back when something to the tune of "I don't
ing care anymore... bash me online talk about me to your dog, whatever."
I hope this is what you were wanting Nick. A simple I'm sorry and a refund or either just doing what I paid you to do would have been awesome. You gave me the sob story about how it was your first time running a business and not knowing how to deal with all this at a time means relatively nothing considering how well into my waiting, I called you asking for an update on TWO seperate occasions when you answered the phone while hanging out at the beach ON A WEEKDAY when he was supposed to be so short on time with so much going on.
Cliffs of what we agreed upon
Wanted:
-Crack fixed on the side of the hood
-Inside reinforced
-Liner glassed in
What I got:
-Painted with spray paint (I didn't even want ANY paint added)
-Crack not fixed apparently, it came right through the new paint
-No reinforcement (He didn't even take the old liner out.)
-Hood liner made of the thinnest shower liner made of chop on the planet
-Glued in with Liquid nails
-Sloppy liquid nails painted over with LATEX PAINT. Yes, latex paint.
-enormous gaping holes cut in the back on the hood to be covered over with some stainless louvers that wouldn't supply my lungs with enough oxygen because the slits were so small and close together, much less an engine
And so, without further adieu, I present the members of x-h20 with what I received and apparently should have been thrilled about for the low price of only 200+ dollars and a lot of my time (150 + shipping each way + the 20 dollar tip and thank you note attatched.)
First 6 from when I first opened it... I opened the box in disbelief
Next ones are after the maiden voyage in Lake Martin, AL. I didn't take any pics of the cracks from before it hit the water. You could hardly see them, but it was indeed cracked. I guess using the hood made it worse.
And please excuse the poor looking work I did adding the hoses and the glassed in piece so the drypipe would clear. I had to do it really quick one night. I wonder why I was in a rush
mfg:
A month later, I rode it in the surf for the first time with the hood mod... awesome. It was dumping saltwater all into the carbs and engine compartment.
Thank god for gorilla tape. It got me through the last few months of summer. ugh.
Got air? And mysteriously, it sure didn't smell like epoxy when I was grinding it out. Pretty sure it was poly. Let's not forget to mention that the resin was about 1/4"-3/8" thick... yes I had to grind all that crap out along with the liquid nails and latex paint. It took me a very long time to get back down to decent material so I could do it right.
SURPRISE!!!! It rips right out
Why bother?
I think anyone looking at the pics can really see what is going on here. It's crap. Sorry bombthreat
