Yami or Kawi power

I'd just like a lil advice by people that have run both. I have a trinity epic (x2) in paint. I plan to build it out and it will have a kawi drive (soloas 140 pump) ds and bearing... The ski is set up already for Yami mounts. I'd like to have a pump gas reliable motor that is light. (don't we all) I am familiar with Kawi a LOT more than yami. one thing i've considered was a single carb big bore yami.... I like to keep things simple and clean. so any good combos that are not too crazy expensive im game for. I can also go back kawi but it would be some work to make it work with the yami mout set-up

Yamaha motor with Kawi pump, is pretty much standard for EME hulls, until recent years. I have 2 Q8s setup this way and built a 750sx many years ago with a yamaha powerplant. The kawi pump works great and you get the reliability of the Yamaha motor and electronics. I'd find a yamaha motor for sure.

I originaly planned on that, but I'd rather keep the weight down instead of another 50lbs..
I have two Blasters, one has a ported 701 and the other has a Kawi triple with ADA head and a dried out pipe and there is no comparison. The triple doesn't feel much heavier when lifting, feels very similar when riding flat or surf and has massive amounts of power for relatively low cost. My buddies SXR has an 1100 with lightened flywheel, timing advance, ADA head, dried out pipe and triple Mikuni 44s and its an animal.

This is not even debatable to anyone who has owned or even been around both for a long period of time. Yamaha crankshafts outlive Kawis by 1.3 million years....Yamaha nuts and bolts and castings are superior.

anyone run a big bore yami (or something like a dasa 850) using a single carb? say 48-49 novi/F.S. etc with good results? I've been really considering a Dasa850 with their single intake and a novi 48.... but not sure how well it would run... I can go dual carbs, but for the same price as new oem sbn's, i can go a single novi/fs etc..

I would run dual sbn46's over a single novi or full spec
