Yami TTR 225 Opinions?

I haven't ridden in decades, literally. Used to kick around the trails on the old RM100s and eventually moved up to RM250s.

I've got the bug again and came across a TTR 225 4 Stroke Yamaha for sale locally. It's a 2004, runs nice, plastics are all intact. Guy wants $1700, but I think I could grab it for $1400.

Is this a decent bike for an old guy? My 16 year old son I'm sure would be riding it as well.

Or should I be looking for something else? As I said, I have been completely out of bikes for basically 25 years...so I am clueless as to what is out there.

They are kinda heavy, but are a fun bike to cruise around on. I've always thought they would make a great around town dual sport.
