This reminds me....last year, my mower wouldn't start with the old gas it still had in its tank from the previous season.

right.

I fight that every year, all motorcycles, 3 wheelers, skis, weedeaters, mowers, blah has to be drained of gas or they wont run.
because they sit all year with that gas in them.

My car gets fresh gas every week or so.

the "contaner" was a 5 gallon pvc bucket with about 4-5 layers of saran wrap... its been in a garage with no direct light on it. the gass was brought at a airport in moorsville, NC. it was premix with klotz benol or r-50 (cant rember). i gotta buy more gass anyhow, so i think i'm going to do the sniff test, i cant see throughing away $30

also, id like to add i only have maby 2hrs on a new build from last summer, will it be that much worse i wont be WOT for the next 5 hr's.....

I leave gas in a every mower, blower, weedwhacker, ski, boat, etc, etc, etc over the winter and never had a problem. To the guys getting rid of gas after it's been sitting for two months, you're just wasting money. Gas does not break down as fast as everyone thinks.

So dumping a few gallons of pre-mix into a car will have no effect on the vehicle ???

I do it... my bud does it.. It really can't do anything to hurt the motor..

fyi - I would not do it in a really nice car or anything that is really high performance. I'm just throwing it ina Mazda B2300 pickup (Ford Truck)...

It can screw up the o2 sensor, don't worry if it does you will know it,your fuel system goes into open loop mode without a functioning o2 sensor and youR fuel mileage goes out the window.

theoretically speaking, cause it has'nt happened to my vehicle...
I use it in the lawn mower too....

If the O2 sensor goes bad it will come up in a scan, or your check engine light will go on.

How can it screw up the O2 sensor?

ive ran it in fuel injected vehicles ( with O2) sensors for YEARS, probably hundreds of gallons of it ( I used to do small engine repair, and I burned all the old fuel from stuff people brought in) and NEVER had any problems at all from it.

you've actually got the loop mode backwards too.

closed loop is without any sensor feedback upon initial start up, its a rpeset fuel and timing delivery map.
after temp comes up, it goes into OPEN loop and starts to make changes based on input from the various sensors, temp and O2 and such.

it also reverts to closed loop in the event of an error, or misreading sensor ( check engine light normally throws a code)

How can it screw it up you ask, could it have something to do with the oil in the gas if its premix? Regular fuel will not foul up an o2 sensor but premix will, using silicone that is not sensor safe when doing repairs can screw up an o2 sensor also.

have you ever had it happen?

I mean old gas COULD cause a flat tire too right?

as I said, ive burned LOTS of premixed and old gas in my FI cars, never had an issue.

if the guy is that worried about it, he could call hazmat though and have the properly dispose of it, of give it to and Ill burn it in one of my vehicles.

Hmmmmmmm wonder if thats why I said it can instead of it will?
