Super Jet yep another pole spring question

ok went to reinstal my shortened pole today and i put the spring in acording to what i found on other post but it seems to tight i dont remember it being that way use to the pole would sit in the middle just floating but now it takes alot of force to pull it down that far i did nottice that the spring is not all the way in the hole on the handlepole bracket its just sitting on it but it seems to short to go in there heres some pics help would be greatly appreciated is it installed correctly??

It looks like an aftermarket spring AND your pole got lighter and shorter. Simple physics.

X2. The shorter the pole the closer the weight of the steering gets to the pivot point = lighter = floating pole.

(same spring that was on it before shortening) )thanks but is it normal for that spring to not be in the hole on the mounting plate just resting against it and with it this way i dont even need a pole lock anymore ha

i wouldnt worry about it bro. it will be fine like it is. it does suck chasing your pole when you age getting back on your ski thou.
