Well, after about 3 years of building, saving, and tinkering, I finally have finished my AM build. Starting with my 94' Fx1 for 2 years and slowly building that up, it was time to transfer hulls. I went with Jack's old hull I bought from off here, full visual carbon Chan, and started the process of transferring and tuning (what a blast that has been)
The ski was delivered from Jack with no problems and was even more beautiful than in pictures, it was handled with care. The hull was crazy light and the inside was super clean.
From there it was just a matter of slowly buying parts and installing them as the bank account would permit, the first of the things to go onto the hull was the handle pole, steering, and grips. I already had Xscream pole from the Fx1, and new Blowsion ODI lock grips. Jack was also nice enough to throw in some extra turf with the hull so that I could keep the chin pad matching with the rest of the ski.
Before I started messing with the motor, I wanted to dial in the pump. Since this hull was made for 155, I sold my 144 mag and went with a Blaster 155 OEM pump, stock prop, and Thrust trim (that was a fun purchase). I cant thank Chris enough from Jetmaniac for the time spent dealing with this pump and the build alone. I decided to keep the colors lined up in the pump and wanted to make everything look as clean as possible, I figured it was worth it to take it slow and put time into this ski rather than to rush it.
Next part of the build was the inside and I have to say was the most difficult/most rewarding part of the entire thing. Since I had a freshly built motor from my Fx1, I decided to stick with that and keep the Jetmaniac 61X 701. OEM single carb, #Zero lightened flywheel, and 61x Carbon reeds.
One of the things that was somewhat of a challenge that we ran into when doing this was also where to place the Ebox, and the mounting that went along with it. With the playing around, we were able to make a backing plate for the box and set it into the mounting spots. Clean and freshhhh
Aside from the pump that was already a massive upgrade size wise that I wasn't expecting on getting into when starting this (thought hull was fit for 144), I also swapped piped and upgraded from B to Power Factor.. Which was the best idea I'd made. It was actually easer to fit I thought, over the B pipe and the power than came with it was insane! The only that was was somewhat of a challenge was the connecting piece from the waterbox to the actual exhaust through pipe. Had to get creative, but it ended up working out in the long run.
