Zeeltronics problem

Was it a 62t zeel or the older type that works with 64x type ignition?

To me it seems like the 64x type should have more reliable timing control...but I dunno.
Mine is the 62t one. It seems like the revised 64x version has a bit less problems and seems to be more sought after now/again. My issues could all.be attributed to my own ignorance/screw ups. But these were the worst ignition issues I've dealt with on a ski in about 14 years of riding.

Sorry to hear your having these issues with the y62t zeel. Please feel free to contact me directly and see if I can help?

thanks P

I'm not anymore. I have about 5 hours on it without serious issue. But it involved cutting a flywheel cover up to verify static timing. And it still will kick back every now and then. I plan on riding surf next month so we will see.

I didn't buy the zeel for the power. I never had issues with a stock cdi or msd power wise. Nothing that held me back. I bought it because it was advertised as reliable with a hotter spark. For surf riding where water ingestion is a fact of life. Then come to find out, the cdi itself isn't very water resistant. Go figure.

Im not hating on zeel. It seems alot of people really like it. It just hasn't been what I expected to get from it. Guys that wanna tinker and tune and chase every .5 hp they can out of a ski probably will have much better results than me.
