Zimmy was never looking for any hand out or help, period . His sponsors have already worked out his next build. The sad part is the ski was running the best it ever had just before it left for France. Tuning wiz Phil Clemmons and I got it two days before it was crated- worked out some bugs and dialed the carbs in a little better. The boat from an idle, could now jump a foot out of the water by just grabbing the throttle. So no need for talk of any funding in any way. After hearing the account from Zimmy, even if there had been flotation- it still would have been a pretty messed up boat do to the surf conditions and there is more to the story but no need to point fingers. There will be flotation in the next build and the boat will rip!

It makes it kinda hard to feel bad wouldn't you say. But I do hate to see someone loss there ski dispite no foam. I'll pitch in a pair of reg numbers.

Don't get me wrong I still feel bad. Zimmy among others have helped this sport grow. It's a shame the ski was lost.

I was just speaking in general that a little extra weight in a ski via foam could save a few parts to help fund the replacement build.

He has some great sponsors and support group so I have no doubts he will be back in action soon.

Ski is still missing at this point, Portuguese Police have notified everyone on the coast of the missing ski, so hopefully when it washes up we will get word, however I am not too optimistic based on the strength of the current and the size of the surf that there will be much left to salvage.

As Erik mentioned, I am definitely not looking for hand-outs or sympathy because my ski went down, I am perfectly capable of accepting responsibility for the lack of floatation in my boat.

The same sponsors and riding buddies who have supported me for the last few years have already stepped up to offer support to get me back on the water, for which I am extremely grateful!

The situation was a perfect storm for the ski to be lost, I honestly believe that the ski could have been recovered were it not for a few unfortunate issues (floatation aside), but hind sight is 20-20.

I am just glad to be home with my family and that I wasn’t injured. The ski can be rebuilt, although the loss of years of hard work and cash to replace it sucks… It’s just a jetski.
