Thats a pretty cool tank, but I just don't see the point of them. I know you are trying to save weight, but why don't you just put 1 gal in the stock tank?

Please let me know the other advantages of these small tanks. I'm sure there are advantages, I just dont know what they are.

It makes it less cramped it the hull.

It should hold a little more than a gallon since I took some of the foam out, but I just tend to ride hard for a few minutes at a time anyway.

You would want to put the stock tank back in for surf riding.

A 2 gal tank would have worked well, but I couldn't find anything between a 1 and 3 gal tank.

i would really like to see it installed, please post pics when it is done. Thanks

^^^^^To a certain point, it kills me when people think weight means nothing. If that were the case, you would see alot more freeride sxr's. Sure for surf a may not mean as much, but I would still rather be throwing around a lighter boat. If you get in trouble in the air, you chances are better to correct yourself on a lighter ski. imo

I run a cheapo battery... who cares, it's a battery... If it dies, i buy another one for 29$ how is a batt gonna leave you standed... they don't die in one sec... it takes time... They get weak and whenthey do, ya know to change it...

I pulled a flat water BR this weekend! Only rode on Sunday after not riding for 2 weeks. They were my 1st attempts on flat water. I am stoked.......and I have witnesses.

You guys wont talk me into reinforceing........sorry, I like my boat light.

Actually....both of my Odyssey batteries failed from one second to the next.

I had heard that the non sealed IE Walmart batteries would/ could break internally and go dead upon landing hard. But if slutties dont do this then dont see that as an issue any longer. I have had one kill a cell in surf (maybe just a coincidence) and I thought this was the case so I went to sealed cell $40.00 from local battery dealer and have had now in 2 boats for two years no problems.

can we at least say "i told you so" when you crack the sides of the hull by the rivets under the hood seal.. or you rip your handlepole base... or both?

:clown:

I am not surf ridding, so I agree that lighter is better. My boat is not reinforced and has had a crack at rivet under hood seal for 4 years. Toby's boat is reinforced and has the same crack in near same place. If I were riding surf I would reinforce, but not for flat water (except where handlepole mounts).
