Next rant USPS , I am sure I don't really need to elaborate but WTF , is there a more incompetently run mega shipping business than USPS ?

Constant updating of delivery dates, rest assure it absolutely positively won't be there overnight , but it won't be there anywhere near the scheduled delivery date regardless of the USPS service you used , last case in point , my Ebay delivery was yesterday , when it didn't get here yesterday it was updated to Friday , four extra days, really ?

Four extra days it is most likely sitting at a post office doing nothing , lately everything has been hung up at the Montgomery ,Al. hub but this one hasn't made it far enough to get hung up there yet , if you can't show up on time just come in when you can I guess .

I would say I hope they are next on the DOGE chopping block but that would make things even worse than it is already , at least in the short term anyway .

Canadian Post is about the same. I've ordered parts that had to cross over the border about 45 minutes away from where I live and instead of it just going straight to the local city post office it detoured 3 hours east and sat for a week there before heading north for a few days and back down south toward my direction. I have no idea how they figure this is the most efficient way to ship something but one thing you can be sure of, it'll always take way longer to get than what they tell you because that's how they stupidly and wastefully manage it =/

Dont know where to start. My daughters health has gone to crap over the last year. She was diagnosed with POTS last August. This is been a roller coaster, in the past 4 weeks she has been dealing with dull migraines.... They were not really the kinds that puts you flat on your back but a few times bright lights made them worse. 3 trips to ER, (2 last week), Last trip finally broke the cycle. But from one of those she got a shot, now she is having back pain, like sciatic nerve type pain....... She has had to go to chiropractor before from concussion she got. at one of the Dr Appointments the Dr is also a Chiropractor, her C2 was out of wack, this could be part of the issue. Just really tired of her not being herself. Yeah, this is not really the trivial complaints........... That is coming next.

So 2 weeks ago my 21 Ram 1500 threw a check engine light, buddy read the codes, none really made sense, Cleared codes to see if they would come back, Drove home, (Around the corner), Left later to pick up supper and it did a hard shut off at stop sign. Would not crank. We got to to crank after disconnecting the battery. Got it home. Had towed next day to dealer I bought it from (Toyota - Lifetime Powertrain Warranty). They kicked it to the local Ram dealer....... This was last Tuesday. Friday I stop by, they lost the work order......... I get it, I loose crap all the time...... Just said "Make a new WO, I have my Wrangler to drive, so not really out a vehicle". They call today, Alternator / Generator went out. National Back Order with no idea on when they will get them. Did my own research, Been going on for 6 months or so....... Contracted Gil (Use to post here alot and cause trouble), he gave me a list of dealers with stock, Most said they were spoken for already, Did find one in North East GA that has one, called local dealer, they gonna call about getting it........... This is BS. for one I should not have to make these calls for them........ two, How the hell does Mopar not have any, pull from production stock if need be.......... I know, they not gonna upset the production flow of new vehicles.

Hey BK, really sorry to hear about what your daughter is going through, I couldn't begin to imagine what it's like. If I could offer one thought regarding the sciatica issues, it might very well be a muscle that runs over top of the sciatic nerve called the piriformis because it also has a very small exit through the hips toward the outer side of the butt. If the hips are slightly out of alignment...this is only based on my theory from the experience I am going through, the piriformis gets squeezed and the hip will put pressure on it which will irritate it and cause inflammation and swelling of that muscle. I have been doing a lot of physical therapy to my sciatic nerve not knowing this over the last 4 months with no improvement because I was rehabbing the wrong thing. Last fall my boss decided that the final job of the year which we were given 3 weeks to complete was now too long and she wanted it done in 10 days. Figures, it saved her from paying for one more month of wages to the 4 of us that do all the dam work. We're a small landscaping company with a working crew of 4. Anyway, last job of the year, rushing to get it done and we had to lift some concrete blocks that were 39 inches long by about 8 inches square and weighing around 155 lbs each. A few times we were down to myself and one other on the site rushing to get these in place so one guy handing them over and the other setting them in place. I was the one handing them off and it turned out that with their weight, the uneven terrain and the horrible dimensions making them a real pain to lift, I somehow mildly dislocated the left side of my hip.

I went through some of the most severe pain I have ever gone through over the winter. Lightning-like pain down the left leg, so much so that it dropped me dead mid walking after only about 10 minutes. Full on numbness to the left foot, fell over because I couldn't feel it at all. It was bad, and depression started to set in because everything I did wasn't working, I thought this is what I get to look forward to now for the rest of my life. I did stretching multiple times a day, PT exercises multiple times a day, 2-4 walks a day between 2-12 miles a day to try and keep mobile...if I could even walk those days, the ones I could do that I did it in extreme pain or discomfort. What ended up working was this video at about the 7 minute time slot. Ryan Humiston, he talks about resetting your hips with a workout band to place traction on the hips. I bought the same bands he has, Serious Steel, from Amazon and the first set I did, on rep 3 I heard a sharp click in the left side of the hip and instantly 90% of the pain left! No BS, I've been doing this every time I work out now 2-4 times a week because some of the pain and numbness comes back but it always helps and the symptoms are getting better. It's a slow process but it has been the only thing that has worked. What I do is exactly what he does for form, but I hold each leg in position for 10 seconds and 5 reps per leg, 3 sets per leg, total of 15 reps per leg. It helped me incredibly and the days where I don't have any pain or issues are becoming more common than not now. I started the rubber band traction therapy about 7 weeks ago and stopped the PT exercises and stretching entirely. Those weren't doing anything after 3 months but 3 reps with the rubber band and putting my hip into traction did. I hope if your daughter tries this it helps her as much as it did me, sciatic nerve pain is brutal and if it's actually a hip misalignment irritating the prifiromis, if it goes on for too long it can turn into pririformis syndrome which is ongoing sciatic nerve pressure from an inflamed and swollen piriformis muscle. It literally rides right over top of the sciatic nerve so if it gets swollen it will put pressure on the sciatic nerve and cause virtually identical sciatica symptoms. I did everything the PT said for sciatica because I didn't know about the piriformis, after doing my own research and learning that, I've been improving daily. It's worth checking out at the very least, I hope it helps her and anyone unfamiliar with this like I was until just recently.

The Hip hook from aletha health works very well too. I bought it the last time I had sciatica and herniated discs. The focus on the lower back PT wasn’t fixing my issues either and using the hip hook helped me out a ton.

The hits keep on coming..............

The Good, My Daughter seems to be doing better now. Had her Senior Prom Friday!!!!!!!!!

The Hit, Her car is on its last leg. Little over a year ago it ran really low on oil, no lights, warnings, etc.... Wife was driving it then. Thought Transmission was going out. Took to repair shop. After talking to them they called and said it was fixed. WTF??? "It was really low on oil, the oil effects the transmission (Kia Sorento), we topped off the oil and all good......"............ except the timing chain makes all kinds of racket at startup. But been running good other wise. Past week it started running bad again, checked oil, little low but not bad. Drove it friday and it was not accelerating correctly, when let off throttle it would downshift (Or just alot of drag on driveline, hard to tell), She took my wifes Grand Cherokee Friday night instead. Drove hers on Sat. and it is getting worse. Barely do 60 or climb hills. Only 83k on it (2014). Also drags when cranking (New Battery 4 months ago). I had planned to let her drive it for a year (She not had her license but for 8-9 months (She is 18 now) and beat the poop out of it, then get her something newer. Guess she getting a nice graduation present!!!!!!!!!

Funny you mention the weird shifting and transmission problem. My now late love of my life had a 2010 Hyundia SantaFe which is a rebranded Kia. All the lower control arms on the suspension were stamped Kia etc. Anyway, she was having weird shifting issues too. She took it to Midas, they couldn't figure it out, thought the trans was going and sent her to the local transmission shop and they said it was going to have to be replaced. The problem she was having was it felt like it was slipping when shifting through the gears. She was already really stressed and called me in a panic. So I went out there, snooped around underneath and noticed a wire harness going to a big clutch housing on the rear driveshaft. I wondered if that had anything to do with it so I unplugged it and we took it out...problem solved. It wasn't the transmission, it was that clutch thing on the rear driveshaft. So I removed the entire thing and turned it into a 2wd for about a week while I cleaned the clutch pack and put new bearings into the housing. The bearings can be found, I forget what they are now but the one seal, I think there's only one, I never found a match for it. Those clutch packs were made by Borg Werner who makes the awd systems for Porche if I remember correctly. Well, what I found with the clutch pack was the fluid they used had pretty well dried up or leaked out somehow, either way what was there was sticky like tar. I cleaned the friction plates keeping everything in order because there is a lot of parts in there, then I put some Amsoil 0w40 engine oil for motorcycles in there because it is JASO MA, M1, M2 certified so it can be used with friction clutches and is non-energy conserving oil. Then I filled the housing about 80% full and sealed it back up.

This was about 4 or 5 years ago now and her mother has been driving it since we lost her with no more driveline issues. Whatever that red sticky slom was they used from the oem, it was the cause of all the weird shift slip sensation she was experiencing. The transmission shop was going to hand her a $2800 bill for a transmission it didn't need because they were too complacent and lazy to just unplug that one wire. How the system works is that it is an elctromagnetic wet clutch. The friction plates spin free when traction is good, as soon as the computer senses traction slippage it sends power to that clutch pack magnet and it locks up the rear driveshaft putting power to the rear wheels. The original fluid is some kind of viscous heavy stuff but it makes the friction plates stick together and sometimes they stick in a way that the magnet takes a few seconds to get them to properly lock up. Then you get a momentary pause between shifting with a slight rev up while the clutch pack is trying to engage. It's a neat idea just not fully thought out regarding proper fluid from what I saw. That might be worth looking into on yours BK, Hyundia/Kia says the driveshaft has to be replaced when that happens, I proved it doesn't and for $1300, I'm glad I found the problem. If the U-joints go though then yeah you'll have to replace the driveshaft because they don't sell U-joints to fit that shaft, I think it's a one off design for internal use only. I tried for weeks to find U-joints for that thing with no success. Anywho, some food for thought. Apparently this was a common rear end issue from 2010-2015 or so, maybe newer if they still use that type of clutch pack driveshaft method back there.

She is about to head off to college out of state (Well, next state over!), Just want to get her something that we dont have to worry about..... plus, after my mom passed last year, we have the ability to get her something......... Was able to buy my wife her Grand Cherokee this time last year (We gave Izzy the Kia), Paid the GC off right off the bat, my financial guy agreed to go ahead and pay of my RAM as well, Had it for 2 years now.

When I get junk email because since my now former employer signed me up to something and didn't tell me about it, I have been getting junk mail every week. I never got any until she went stupid with everything has to be done online and now I get the trash. So, I copy the email address and paste it into this https://mailbait.info/run

Usually I get a pop-up asking to continue, I click on the button below where you paste the email and paste the email in again, sometimes I have to do that 10-15 times before it stops asking to continue, but usually when it gets going on its own, just leave the tab open and it'll send 12 emails per minute back to them. Last night I sent 3212 emails before I got the pop up to continue lol. Let them have a little taste of their own annoying tactics.

We have a Hyundia and other than replacing a few coil packs it has been great , it's just a second car now , but my understanding from doing a lot of reading is when Kias and Hyundia's go down they go down hard and fast and they are not ever worth fixing .

It is damn hard to beat the reliability and resale value on a Honda or Toyota , she has a 2021 Honda Accord sport and I have two Toyota pickups , all of them have been great vehicles and most anything that has ever gone wrong with the Toyota trucks I have been able to fix myself in house.

The Honda I don't think I have ever lifted the hood on to see what is under there , the dealer takes care of all the service on it and all we do is ride.

I think it's time for me to move onto another truck. Been hearing a growly high frequency vibration like sound, almost as if you're tagging the rumble strip on the highway. I thought maybe it was a bad u-joint even though I just replaced them all last year...it's coming from the 4WD transfer case. It can be changed in a couple of hours by an experienced guy with a shop and lift but I don't the shop or have ever changed one before. The truck has just under 461,000 kms on it (286,000+ miles) and I could buy a used transfer for it but it has a few other issues going on and who knows what else could grenade before or after I swap it out so I'm not sure if I want to move on or keep pushing to hit a million kms lol. The local wrecker is connected to a network of wreckers and right now there's no inventory on any Tundras with good drive line hardware last I checked. I'll have to reach out Monday to see if there are any available because I do want to keep it. I don't like the new tech and to replace it with anything close by whether used private or used on a dealer lot is going to be 28k before taxes and finance interest. I am looking at a 2017, mine is a 2009 TRD and I like the interior and options it has, the newer one doesn't have most of these like storage pockets everywhere, transmission temp guage, tach, etc...at least not that I'm aware of because they don't list it as having it.

But I also just really love the look of the first gen 2 Tundras, that headlight design and front end was the first thing that stood out to me and it's the first truck I really liked that I said one day I will own one. I've had it since 2014, racked up 330,000 kms on it, put lots of parts in it, lots of time, I know it well and it has lots of new parts now just from last year, about 4 grand worth. I don't want to toss that and get back into payments but I don't want to put another $1500 into it if the tranny or motor decides to finally cave in another 6 months. I guess that could happen to anything at any time whether newer or this one, so yeah, pretty torn right now. I am going to get a supply of Royal Purple 75w140 today though in hopes that changing the fluid back to that stuff will help prolong it until I either find a transfer case or go for the newer truck. The other problem with newer is the work side of life. I work seasonal and have been laid off since Nov. My boss became a nasty biotch to me over the winter and just last week she pulled the rug out from under me 10 days before we go back by saying "due to the tariffs and unpredictable economy we can not bring you back"...BULLSHEET! She's a narcissist and when I proved her wrong over her blowing up on me it put a big "you d!ckhead" dent in her ego so instead of admitting she was wrong it's easier not to face the music when you have the position to just not bring it back. Everyone agrees her snap decision seems very odd considering she was just harrassing us about a contractor day being put on by one of our suppliers last Friday. It's definitely not about tariffs, it's about ego and hers took a beating so now she has a grudge on for me. So to buy a replacement I need to be in a steady job for at least 3 months before I can get the loan lol. At least I have 2 jobs coming and I start tomorrow at the first, if it ends up sucking then I have the backup that I will be hearing from by Wed. which is slightly less pay but better hours, half the drive time and pretty easy going work. But there's the most recent on my side of the auto and affordability side of life. I am now joining you and the daughter BK on the vehicle woes =/

Yup. The Kia really was a good car until it wasn't... they hit 80k and all of a sudden they start burning oil like crazy. Wife actually almost ran it dry with zero warning. Keep in mind, she may drive 5000 miles a year. Now even less! We had no low oil pressure warnings. Got oil in it and timing chain started making noise just at start up. Fast forward 1 year and started making other noise all of a sudden. Less than 20 miles later it was toast.
