9/17 is the best for low end on a stock and lightly modded motor. Once the power gets up there you need to step up the pitch so it dosent cavitate as bad on the low end. I like my 12/18 5mm setback. Either way you go make sure its a big hub impeller, makes a huge difference.
I do the same, I get all our STI's after the local kids take them out and blow them up. I just did a short block on a wrx with 6600 miles. Freeze frame data showed 8400rpm when it came apart. Yea subaru warranty covered it, wtf!?!?!
Ive herd that as well, blueprinting, 650sx nozzle, 12/18 and tbm cone really made a huge difference. I had a blowsion cone, 9/17 and bored nozzle before the motor mods and it really didnt hook up as well or have the low end hit with the added power. I always wanted a mag pump but just cant...
Checked all that off the list a while back lol, gutted the water box, drastically lightened the bed plate, turfed the rails. I could use a smaller/lighter pole than the full length A/C pole but just dont want to sink more money into another pole at this time. I wish I would have got a good...
I blueprinted my kawi pump, spent hours and hours on it removing all castings and sanded it down to 800 grit so it was almost mirror like. The results were not noticeable until I threw in a tbm cone. Huge improvement...
I would be concerned about the jb weld breaking off, I wouldnt assume paint...
My advice is always more ride time before new parts. I have found That most of the time changing things to make the ski more manageable when starting out often leads to spending more money to make it handle more how you want it to once you get comfortable on it.
This is coming from a guy who...
not sure if they are the same but I have a mint looking complete exhaust off my 02 pro that I would sell ya cheap. Make a offer and help clear out some garage space
Knob pulls up to open the valve. It should spring back down when you let go of it. If it dosent I wouldnt ride it till you put the block off on it, youll burn up the motor pretty quick if it leaks while riding.
The curve shouldnt be too much more aggressive, I wouldnt worry about that as much as the wiring. You could always try and sell yours and look for a 98-03 or 750xir cdi that will bolt right in. There was also a msd for sale earlier this week pretty cheap.
I know the 98-03 cdi is a good upgrade for a little extra advance. You might need to also swap in the stator for it to work. I dont know off hand but the rest of the e-box should be the same. I run mine with a advance plate and 93/110 octane mix for security. Runs like a champ.
I used to run a 3 way switch wired for either one or two bilges at a time similar to what vumad posted. I kept snapping off the knob and just said heck with it and run two switches now. I picked up some waterproof covers for toggle switches from bass pro and just use cheap plastic switches from...
2:34, That looked pretty brutal. Im a little shocked that in the 5 years worth of advancements in hulls/pumps/motors/skills that a double back flip hasnt showed up on flat water. (if they have I havent seen one anyway)
Sick video none the less.
