I have a 2" square tube trailer frame, drilled a 1/2" vertical hole and a 7/16"+/- hole about 3" deep in the 2x4. Got a 5" x 1/2" lag bolt, put on a washer and ran them up in there. So far a full season of use, no play.
If I was only loading skis, I agree with you.
I use this trailer for storing and hauling my zero turn mower, 4-wheeler, dirtbikes, pressure washer and other equipment that offsets the sliding of the ski on the ramp. The PVC slides are very easy to pull in and push out the ski. If I'm on a slope...
Just getting mine setup.
PVC slides on ramp and floor. Been using rachet straps to keep the ramp at beach cart height. Will install some adjustable fold up stands on the ramp shortly. Will have a fold up bed on the side.

I molded a cradle to keep the extinguisher in place when the tow rope comes out. It also makes it easier to put back in. Lined with diamond hydro turf. I drilled drain holes at each end of the extinguisher cradle and the lower corners of the tow rope area.
Thank you
Rubber latches for coolers from Amazon. Never break cooler hinges from Amazon. Several layers of 3/8" under pad from Jet Maniac. Cut diamond turf from Hydro turf. Would use molded turf next time to better match the factory turf. Stainless bolts from Ace Hardware. Large bling washers...
Thank you,
Even though I thought I understood all of the theory, it was really my first time trying to pull off something like this. Took alot longer than I thought.
Built this for my RICKTER. Didn't have a good place for the extinguisher. Made it out of fiberglass. Under pad and turf. Lined the inside with turf also.
More low speed type things, surf, tricks, jumps. Chasing boats would be the fastest. Bouy or top speed runs would be more rare.
It does hit the "power band" now and pull away at top speed. Just thinking about lowering the rpm hit range.
