Other Need Direction (Composite Tubing w/Bends)

@Nate_D The image below is an exaggeration of the bends that I will need, but in your experience do you think the heat shrink will still work? Everything that i've read has been for making straight shafts.

Other Need Direction (Composite Tubing w/Bends)

This is the type if info I was hoping for! Excellent @Nate_D I will look into the heat shrink.. I originally planned on wrapping it with a wicking layer and then tightly going over it with a perferated plastic. Vacuum bagging is also not out of the question, i'm just worried about the forces...

I think I would rather use There is no other reasons than I've wanted to try my hand at composites and this is an interesting problem to solve. I think I am going to try my luck with US Composites 635 epoxy resin. Use a fiber tape wound around the plug both directions, split the mold to...

Other Need Direction (Composite Tubing w/Bends)

The casting tape might work for the form, then do the biaxial sleeve over top. It looks to be a very simple way to do what i'm after. I am worried about the longevity and durability of the resin used though. I wouldn't want the product to flake or unravel (especially being the inner surface...

Other Need Direction (Composite Tubing w/Bends)

Thanks @Mdavies_02 ! I'm going to use this thread as a brainstorming device.. Y'all can tell me if I'm off track. I do not think I will be able to dissolve the pool noodle BUT I believe the layup will not stick to it (or I can wrap it).. New plan of attacks is to do a thin buildup with cloth...

Other Need Direction (Composite Tubing w/Bends)

I want to be clear, I have not done an acceptable amount of research prior to posting this question but I'm hoping that your experience will point me in the right direction so I don't waste a bunch of time. I'm looking to build fiberglass charge piping for an automotive application. Here is...

    Homemade Hitch Hauler

Well this rig is a success. At the ramps I launch at I can pull in till water is halfway up the rear wheel and unload the Seadoo and Waveblaster, drop the tail gate and easily pull out the X2 and JS440. The tail gate is about 8" above the water when its down, so loading up is very easy as well.

    Freestyle Squirt BUN

Are you using a MAF for tuning or is it all RPM/TPS? Also.. I assume you are doing Total Loss so you are not trying to overcome the draw of a fuel pump. Is this correct? What type of run-time do you expect? Very cool project!

    Anyone have a Dog/Dogs?

Here's Stella. 9 months. 120lbs. She doesn't quite fit on the rug anymore. She drinks from the sink. She plays with everything. She even dressed up for Halloween. Pretty great pup!

Fair Prices in Midwest (Early 90's SN)

@Tshaw .. I checked compression on a cold motor. I left the other plug in each time so as not to overrun the starter. Each cylinder was low 160's. I'm sure ideal conditions would be higher but nowhere near 200psi. The ski feels very strong tho. It was well maintained.

Fair Prices in Midwest (Early 90's SN)

@Tshaw I picked up the blaster for $1200. It's got a West Coast head (unknown dome size) a Riva Groovy ride plate, and possibly I larger carb. Seems to bevtuned mostly correct. So far I've taken it to a buddies private pond to check it out and took it to Lake Lemon yesterday to stretch its...

Blaster New to PWC. '95 WB1

I put about 6 gallons through this thing yesterday and had a blast. This ski does exactly what you tell it to. It's got a Riva Groovy ride plate already, so I'm sure that helps. I'm not quite convinced that the high jet tuning is correct. The ski is very quick at half throttle but I don't feel...

Blaster New to PWC. '95 WB1

You're right. I should stop being so cheap. Purchased! Next order of business. It looks as if the only aftermarket piece is the West Coast head. I'm seeing ~160 psi compression in both cylinders with a cold motor, throttle plate open. Would I be safe to set up the carb per the FSM or should I...

Blaster New to PWC. '95 WB1

I just want the name/manufacturer of the aftermarket head pictured in my first post. That way I can do some research on what affect it has on the ski. I'm trying to learn as much as I can in order to make this a fun, solid, reliable toy.
