Put it to good use today and it works like a charm. I cut the arches and put 3/8” hose on the edge and then turfed over it. The cleat and the turfed arch double as “handles”.
Dinghy is a much better idea. The kyak will not tow well any will roll way easier than a dinghy.
If the transom of the dinghy was removable or on a hinge, you could make cheap basic bunks from 2x4s. Water in an inflatable dinghy really doesnt matter. You have to pop the inflatable to sink it...
Id imagine the transom needs to be there for structural support. Not necessarily to float or hold your sj, but to tow it Id want the transom. If you were able to swing it down to load your ski and close it after... I bet youd be fine.
