How often do you check your hardware?

I am impressed by the number of people who's skis run long enough for the hardware to come loose.

    Sxr collection

You didn't mention the X2/ A complete collection would have the Gen1 and Gen2. That 300 will be easier to find than a Gen2 X2.

Superjet dies/seizure at the end of each run

I recently had a bad battery on my superjet, bought a new battery, had the same problem, thought it was the starter, dissembled the entire ski assuming it had to be a bad ground or a bad starter. Was placing an order for a new battery but had my new $140 battery tested first. Brand new battery...

Superjet dies/seizure at the end of each run

I wont comment on piston colors. It's not something I am experienced in. Those plugs look like something I would be happy with. Wouldn't that steam clean the plugs? I also felt he was describing that the problem resolved after resting. I would think that if water was in the cylinder, it would...

Superjet dies/seizure at the end of each run

Hydrolock is caused by fluid in the cylinders preventing the motor from moving. It's bad news because the starter is strong enough to blow out the crank bearings. Water can come in through the intake or it can actually hydrolock from too much fuel, but fuel hydrolock is only going to happen...

Superjet dies/seizure at the end of each run

When you leak test the carb, you are ensuring the fuel pump is not leaking. The carb should be able to hold 5-10 PSI for 10-15 minutes when you add pressure to the carb with the return and etc blocked. If it doesn't hold pressure, then your gaskets or needle is bad or you have too much corrosion...

Superjet dies/seizure at the end of each run

I also had strange problems from my CDI. I had a MSD that was used. I had strange behavior on my ski too. I put the stock ignition back in and the problem was resolved. CDi can make very weird things happen. You can't just change from on to reserve and keep going nuts. The reserve line is...

    3.0? For spraying gelcoat.

I have a cup gun but I don't like the work it does. Too much orange peel with a 4.0 tip when a HVLP gun is not that hard to clean. For mold work I thin the gelcoat 8% with styrene and for finishing work I mix it 5:1 with patch booster. I cool the gelcoat ahead of time in ice so down into the 60s...

    3.0? For spraying gelcoat.

Yes. Typically I just use talc and resin to make a putty. I sometimes just thicken the gelcoat to fill small imperfections or use the gelcoat to dye the poly resin. However, for the project I was working on at the time of the post, it was very easy to just spray it with gelcoat at the time of...

    3.0? For spraying gelcoat.

I've learned a lot since I started the front. Prior to this, my largest project was the...

Telling you what I was told by my local retailer was not an attack on your abilities or knowledge.

    3.0? For spraying gelcoat.

FGCI told me not to use acetone, and to be careful with styrene for thinning gelcoat. It discolors the gelcoat. Duratech is very expensive. I have been using a product called patch booster which is working great.

Help in Georgia with X2 engine install

If you can't find someone, we can try to help walk you through it. The hard part about a X2 is not the install. The 750 drops right in and most of the cooling is the same as it would be for the 650. The problem is the mismatch 650 carbs, pipes and props needed since the 750 tuned parts wont fit...

    3.0? For spraying gelcoat.

I have not. I have looked at them though and they do have potential. That's the opposite of the way I want to go thoguh. I spayed 32 ounces of Gelcoat the other day on the rear cap I built for my camper which is about 16 sqft. The front cap I built was about 90 sqft, which is a gallon. These...

    3.0? For spraying gelcoat.

Gelcoat spray gun question here. I currently have an assortment of spray guns. The one I use the most for gelcoat repair is the Aeropro, which I think might now be TCP global, 2.5mm HVLP spray gun which was recommended to me by @Nate_D...
