Also think about the amount of lubrication your cylinder gets from a 50:1 fuel air mix. It's not a four stroke engine that is lubricated by oil. The only lubrication it gets its entire life is 50:1 fuel air mix! In vapor form! Not much lubrication.
Not saying you can't lubricate the cylinder walls but the chances of your rings not seating properly are a lot higher when the cylinder walls are lubricated prior to start up. Just did a top end on a 09 sj that was freshly done by someone else took it apart and it had lots of blow by from the...
Newer two stroke dirt bikes are totally different as they have nicasil coated cylinders. They can't be honed. They do require more lubrication when new.
Dry is the only way to fly. Works great every time. Think about how much lubrication it gets when running. Most run 50:1 mix, that's not much lubrication. The main concern with a fresh topend is getting a good seat on the rings. Put a buch of lube on the cylinder walls and rings and they have no...
Sounds like you put in a new top end and did not get a good seat on the rings. Fresh set of rings and a fresh hone and put your top end together dry. no oil on the cylinder walls, only a very light wipe on the skirt of the pistons and you should be ready to go.
I went from a sn to a fs2 and would say out of all the other am hulls I've ridden the FS/r hulls are the best all around hulls out. I would not say they buoy better than a sj but they are def lighter. The length makes them a little unstable at speed. Don't get if wrong ill hold mine wfo all day...

Looks like the ski still goes big! Check out Jeff Troegner trying to flip it at the JK pismo ride. And the short ride the boat went for by itself before sinking, again!

Doesn't look like its the first time that skis been for a ride. This looks like it going 92' in '07 piloted by Kevin Green.
If any of you do go out to camp you should come up the beach to ride. Most of us local guys ride pretty much every weekend. We usually ride about a 1/4 mile south of the grand ave ramp. Early am. Usually show up 8-9 am.
I was standing on the shore and saw the hole thing. Great! I ran out and grabbed it from those guys so there skis would not keep getting slammed. It sheared the throttle shaft of at the carb body and the butterflies went wfo with no spring. I was talking to the kid that was on it and he said it...
