Hi Comp JS440 w/ Copper Head Gasket, do I need O-Rings?

Just as an update, ski is together and ripping great. No O-rings needed. Copper sealed gasket. I didn't even anneal it before assembly.

    Other Fuel line options

I never said I run tygon 1200. I'm telling you I run the stuff linked on McMaster which is C-210-A, which has been fine in everything, for years, submerged in snowmobile gas tanks, etc etc.

    Other Fuel line options

I agree with what you're saying. We were looking into this and it comes stamped as C-210-A. St. Gobain is the mfr. and this is what they have to say about C-210-A: https://www.ics.saint-gobain.com/tubing/thermoplastic-elastomer-flexible-tubing/versilon-c-210-a "It also offers exceptional...

    Other Fuel line options

https://www.mcmaster.com/catalog/129/165/5549K33 This is the stuff on all my skis, bikes, snowmobiles, and lawnmower. It is name brand tygon. It is excellent. I will never use another fuel line. It stays supple, seals good on fittings, and is clear so you can visually see any fuel flow issues.

Here's my 1980 JS440. Westcoast pipe, ocean pro intake and exhaust manifold, SBN44, ported motor, Solas KC6, OP ride plate. Does anybody in here recognise it?

Hi Comp JS440 w/ Copper Head Gasket, do I need O-Rings?

Nothing wrong with applying a bit of greater materials theory to our little hobby.

Hi Comp JS440 w/ Copper Head Gasket, do I need O-Rings?

I can just re-anneal it using a torch and a bucket of water, correct?

Hi Comp JS440 w/ Copper Head Gasket, do I need O-Rings?

I thought it would only need to be quenched after heat cycling it?

Hi Comp JS440 w/ Copper Head Gasket, do I need O-Rings?

So do I need any other sealant? Or just ensure both surfaces are clean, flat, and oil free?

Hi Comp JS440 w/ Copper Head Gasket, do I need O-Rings?

I should rephrase it as "do I need to machine my head to accept o rings" if I run a copper head gasket.

Hi Comp JS440 w/ Copper Head Gasket, do I need O-Rings?

I am building a high compression ported JS440 motor out of a spare I had laying around. Aiming for .040" quench height with a copper head gasket. Do I need to run O-rings? Both the head and cylinders will be freshly machined surfaces.

    JS440 Quench Height

Honestly, I've ridden 650s and was really not a fan of the power delivery. Plus I wanted to experiment with the 440 and see what I get from it. Thank you though

    JS440 Quench Height

Current gasket is a .040 and current squish is .080. Hoping to take .020 off the jugs and run a .020 copper gasket to get me down to .040. I was just mostly confused as to why more people don't do this. I hear a lot of talk about porting the 440s (or heard) and hardly anyone mentioned a proper...

    JS440 Quench Height

Afternoon all, I recently picked up my first standup, a 1980 JS440. My parents had these back in the day so it's cool to be riding the same skis as them. The ski came in boxes and we put it together on the night I got it and had it on the lake that weekend. It's a nice ski with a westcoast...
