Yes I used a 550 tank. I put a rubber Plumbing plug over the front filler spout to seal it up. Then I cut a round hole in the top of the gas tank to fit a 550 gas cap flange. I got a special viton rubber flange seal (rated for gas) from mcmastercarr. . I use stainless steel self tapping...

Its worth something. I wanna say I paid$75 or more for my mint RN waterbox and the first thing my buddy did was slice it open and gutted or at least removed most of the baffle. Then he tig welded it back together and it sounds great and makes good power.
