hell, grind out the back side and layup and reinforce from the inside. use a piece of ply on the outside and a heavily waxed piece on the inside and sandwhich the crack till cured. may work well until repaint time.
it may have to do with your clamps. the t-bolt style are th ticket, but the regular stainless will work fine. silicone exhaust/turbo hose is also the ticket..
Get all the oil out of the case..that is an inspection hole for the flywheel..the electronics are n there... best bet is pull the cover and clean it out.. prime the Carb with the filter off and plugs out by turning the motor over via the start button and then replace the plugs. Confirm spark...
