I have a Solas 148 Yam pump - used, built with pre-08 SJ shaft and SS wear ring. - bearings feel a bit rough but was running fine. Probably best to have a look at them. . 95% freshwater use with maybe 2 trips to Pismo/Ocenaside - so no saltwater damage... no nozzles included

FWIW, I have 2 XFT poles. One on my Circus and one on my T1... I had to shorten both of them to get them where I wanted. Circus is at 29.5 pivot to pivot, and I think I have the T1 at around 33 - but I would have to check to be sure. EDIT - might be willing to sell

As I expected... that is a HUGE part of your problem! You're giving up 15 to 20% of your horsepower due to the lack of air density (oxygen). Besides that, the builder probably didn't give you an impeller pitched for your elevation, or the proper domes to compensate with some extra...

You're in Utah? What is your elevation?

I personally wouldn't recommend the vee shape. Bullett put a ton of design into that hull with a lot of testing I'm sure. Slapping that aggressive design on the poorly designed Octane hull is probably a recipe for more disappointment. But who knows... ?
