For beach tire/axle combo, I used riding lawn mower tires(18" or 20") and a 3/4" aluminum gokart axle or any 3/4" steel pipe. For the beach cart itself you can use steel and paint it. Mine is made of steel.
Look for a yamaha superjet 1990-2020. You will have more fun riding and learning on the Superjet Vs trying to backflop around on a high maintenance ski.
Bought this on amazon a couple weeks ago when it was only 100$. I wouldn't trust it with anything over 400lbs. But so far the wheels are nice and the height is better than the scissor stand for wrenching on the SJ. This site has coupons all the time so might be able to pick it up for under 100$...
If you are wanting more power you are better off saving your time and money and dropping a kaw or yam 650 in there. Someone just posted a running 650 engine for 300$ on one of the facebook groups.
Best advice would be to buy a waveblaster, reaper or mx1. :)
