    Sunk the ski…all okay? Maybe?

Thanks for the help guys, will do… I am now down the rabbit hole, after fogging the engine for “just in case” purposes I noticed my carbs were looking a little gunky, so I decided it’s time to rebuild them. Now that I have the carbs off and hearing about broken reeds, I’m thinking it may be...

    Sunk the ski…all okay? Maybe?

Story.. 1. Ski sunk, friend tried to start it 4-5 times 2. I Pulled spark plugs, got all water out 3. I fired her up and ran it for 30-45 min …she runs good so far, worried about a bent rod or crank from trying to start it with water in it. How would I tell if a rod or the crank is bent?? Or...

New Midshaft, shimming pump - SOLVED

Hey just wanted to circle back and thank you guys for all the info. Just had to keep the front 2 bolts snug while placing the shims, and use a breaker bar to place a little pressure on the back of the pump to slide the shims into place easier. Got her all lined up and put back together. Thanks!!

New Midshaft, shimming pump - SOLVED

Ill give it a shot, when I first tried that I could hardly place any shims since I had to put a lot of pressure downward on the back up the pump to give enough space to place a shim, felt like it was almost bad for the pump or the mounting points for the pump. I'll give it another shot today...

New Midshaft, shimming pump - SOLVED

Hey guys, finally got the time to rework the ski using your inputs. I got the Cold Fusion alignment tool and pump shims. I installed the alignment tool, and saw that the driveshaft needed to come up because it was sitting low. I loosened the 4 bolts on the pump, and started to install the...

New Midshaft, shimming pump - SOLVED

Yep, I definitely remember having to pull up on the mid shaft to get the bolts to line up. Also, I just took a look at my pump and there are zero shims on the bolts, I am the second owner of the ski so.. not sure if the first owner didn't know what he was doing but it seems unlikely that zero...

Hey Guys, Thanks for all your responses, I think I have it figured out now. Being the first time replacing my mid shaft housing and hearing your feedback, there is one thing I did not do. When replacing my mid shaft, I did not think about how the driveshaft lined up with the hole in the...

New Midshaft, shimming pump - SOLVED

Thanks for the responses guys. Jet Ski Dude, I hope this is the case, I was thinking maybe its because its a all new Midshaft and it just needs to wear in a little. Proformance1, I reshimmed the engine as straight as I could. I ran the ski for 5ish min, I did rev it a few times to make sure...

New Midshaft, shimming pump - SOLVED

Quinc, Hopefully im tracking your question correctly. I never took the driveshaft out, I just replaced the Midshaft housing, I didn't think I needed to lineup the driveshaft if I am just replacing the Midshaft... Am I wrong on this? Nick

Hey guys, So I installed my new Midshaft housing with new bearings and seals all packed well with marine grease. Put the engine back in, lined it up and got the ski back together. Pulling Engine-which gaskets?

Sorry for the delay, and thanks for all the info! Pulled the engine today, all the engine mounts were broke and in bad shape. Excited about getting the new rhaas mounts in. Anyways, the problem I ran into today was trying to get the midshaft housing unstuck from the hull? It looks like the...

    Pulling Engine-which gaskets?

Keeping this short guys. Pulling my engine to replace the 4 motor mounts I broke. I plan on keeping the carb and exhaust in the hull to minimize wiring/tube disconnect. The only 2 gaskets i need are the intake and exhaust, correct? Anyone recommend on pulling the carb and exhaust out with the...

Thanks for the help guys! Here is a update 1. Narrowed it down to the relay, there is 12 volts going to one side of the relay and 0 going to the other when the start button is pressed. I jumped the relay, and the starter turns. I also tested the switch by connecting the voltmeter to the plug...
