Heres my most recent "waiting on car parts" just trying to stay busy project.
I took a 6.5 hp gas motor that's been sitting on the shelf for years and converted it into an air compressor pump. I just replaced the cylinder head with an aluminum plate and 4 reed check valves off a China 150cc...
Yep, seems to work fine but I wouldn't recommend it for surf use. Not gonna hold the hood as well as a good seal. Doesn't get that deep groove to hold it snug.
When I worked for this welding company back in the day I acquired a restaurant return air squirrel cage fan. I hooked it to a 1hp motor and needless to say it was way too much. Pretty much blew away anything that wasn't bolted down!
That thing was a life saver when sanding/grinding fiberglass tho.
Figured I had to share this with yall.
$10 NukeFan.
So you don't lose your cool after you just blew up your ski heres a quick diy on your new favorite shop fan.
These fans are pretty quiet and move tons of air so before you toss that old nuker, snatch that fan from it! And dont forget the...
I do have a PJS 650sx headpipe and first half of the stinger. Maybe I can make a custom cheater b pipe fit? Now I just need source out a sizzler manifold...
My buddy built this gheenoe with a 550 shoved up its backside.
He used the bottom from my 550/650sx hull build. I was about to throw it out. He grabbed it and had it done in 8 days. It cost next to nothing to build. Shes all glass and still alive so thats good.
iPhone gps confirmed 29mph with...
Heres something I built a long time ago. Way before I knew anything about skis.
She was pretty fast and surprisingly good handling. Very much a sleeper. Best part it was built for less than $1500. iPhone gps confirmed 47mph. Never got the other pump on. Corrosion sent her to an early grave...
I understand that the manifold preheats the water for the engine but does the second part need to be water jacketed? It does spray in a small jet of water but that can still be incorporated without the use of a water jacket.
Reason being this hull doesn't have much wiggle room but at 260lbs...
Not trying to rain on your parade just trying pass on some hindsight that recently happened to me.
Currently trying to get a 701 to fit in my 550 650sx thing.
550 game strong!
Why not just graft the whole 750 bottom onto the 550 top? Seems like less work than trying to line up the pump to the motor....
Just recently did this to my 550 build. 650sx bottom half 550 top half. If I was you I'd stop now. Your gonna want to use a complete SJ bottom and...
Yea maybe that coffman will fit.
I might be able to get this protec for cheap. If so I guess i'll just throw the grinder and tig at it to see if we can make some magic happen! Tight squeeze.
