It's not a matter of clearance to the bottom of the hull. The +2 intake tunnel puts the indent for the grate right behind the bulkhead. So if the bolt and insert were at the bottom for the mid shaft they would hit and go through the hull into the front of your intake grate. I just ran into...

I had a dasa 970 10mm and then a tpe 1105 and the tpe is way better all around. Can't speak of brand X but I did hear a rumor they were looking into also producing a cast cylinder so TPE must be on to something.

I personally would not copy a hull. Our new one started as one of our originals. I have start to finish pics of the process for when someone says we copied anything. It is original and has some huge changes. Now back to air blair!
