Thank you.
Not everyone wants to deal with corroded used junk off ebay either/ pay pal/ scammers, and then the extra hassle of getting it bored and cleaned up. In my part of the world machining is very expensive and many don't want to touch 2-stroke stuff. I know I'm not alone since machining...
Smells good... for the first few rides. Until you become nose blind. I only really notice it when I fire it up on the trailer. After that it's only the folks in canoes that will smell it. Any good oil (TCW3) will be good for wear. Its corrosion that's the killer. Forget cylinder wear, people...
This is what i'd like to see. A modern wb3 with the tr-1 with some light weight type hull material/ electric trim etc. We all know the b1 will never make a return. I think the b3 might just be big/ stable enough to be considered for some sort of re-production.
Common Yamaha, give us the WB3.1!
Question for my Canadian friends here.
Where are some half way decent spots to ride surf (if I dare call it that) in southern/ eastern Ontario? Wifey and I are looking to get a new cottage and if I could ride 1+meter fresh water waves off the dock that'd be the dream.
What are your favorite...
Pic of my 3” home depo extended nozzle/ static trim setup. Yes it works. Probably better than most would believe. Looks a bit hacky but for $10 stainless clamps included I dig it.
Late summer update: She’s running snappy and strong! Got the motor back together with new gaskets, half girdle and a new handlebars mount bilge switch to replace the Amazon junk I had before. FYI those switches are available from McMaster carr. Need to get the blowsion bracket but after can get...
For Canadian riders on a budget, MEC has some nice neoprene booties. They are pretty basic but great for someone looking for a more minimal shoe. The top part of the shoe is flat so they're quite comfortable in holds as well...
Looking for a half girdle kit for my stock 61x head.
Full blown girdle setup is a bit overkill/ cost prohibitive for my setup, but would like the extra added insurance of having the intake side supported.
Anyone got one? I saw here years ago someone was making and selling them?
Any new old...
Major update and a bit of sad/ lucky news.
I haven't posted in a while since it's summer where I live which only lasts until mid sep before it starts to cool off again.
That said i'm waiting for parts again so I have a bit of time to post.
The good news:
This thing is so much fun! Oh man...
I use Klots Skicraft. Its a good oil and tc-w3 rated. Sometimes hard to find in Canada if you don't live near a dealer which is my situation. There might be a dealer out your way. I get mine from motomike.ca (Canadian dealer) Decent shipping rates and good prices on the oil itself. Link below...
So nice to see an oil thread where there aren't 100 people preaching castor oil. 1st reply hit the nail on the head. Most important is tcw3 (marine) 2t oil. For it's corrosion properties. People are so worried about piston/ cyl wear that they overlook crank bearings and corrosion. Even more...
Got my grubby hands on a roll of HT after canceling my order or pre-cut mats from last November? October?
Either way, making a stencil out of paper and a crayon I found on the floor was very easy. Cut the stuff with a pair of my wife’s nice scissors and slapped it down after going over it with...
Nice Job " EB " on your hull work and your customization of every little detail. I have a few friends that have this pride in craftsmanship character asset. I did like your titanium screws too..... to bad they weren't button head or low boy SHCS's. I'm working on an identical project as yours...
Opened up the bottom end of my 701 to replace the crank seals as part of some preventative maintenance while the top end is out getting a fresh bore.
can someone tell me what is considered “normal” for the sound of the pto bearing? The front and centre bearings are very smooth and quiet. The...
