My vote is for -4.3, expecially since you already flip and roll a sn. Definitely easier to maintain speed, less tiring, less porpousing than a shorter hull. It's surprising there isn't more of a noticeable difference on mine at -8.5 to -4.3 !

Epoxy resin, like West System is best for smc, check out there website, a lot of info! Resin with a thickener mixed into it after its been mixed with the hardener, is the way to go, then maybe a skim coat of polyester putty, prime and paint. I wouldn't recommend polyester gel coat over epoxy...

Wondered if anyone from MI is headed down to Brigantine ride? Last minute so doubt any of my buddy's can make it. I have crew cab Silverado, just don't want to drive the whole way, and would be nice to split gas!

I have ridden both, Chan rides higher in the water, and is less stable due to the smaller rails. both are obviously super short on the nose compared to a badass.

I did not read the whole thread, but holy S$$$! Did you have some one teach you the process of infusion? Either way it is sweet to see guys like you putting in this kind of work! My hat is off to you!

Not sure on jetting, carbs were new last season on my buddy's 1050 Dasa, I literally just bolted them up, never even turned the screws. I always heard that you didn't need a flow control valve with the atp water box, I robbed the one off my Superjet just to see, and holy sheet! It made it way...

Stock 46's, B pipe, atp waterbox.

This is also -8.5 or real close at this length. It has a TPE 964, 46 mm carbs, enhancer, zero lightened flywheel, 144 solas mag pump, 14/19 scat prop.

It is long overdue that I update this build thread. I have been riding with the shortest plate that I have and my xm pole all the way in. I have to say that shortening the ski made a huge improvement for flatwater riding, which is mainly what I do (although I would much rather be riding surf)...
